Jays are horrendous and have yet to win in a down Big East, but their home court is vicious (could be lessed not being good) and St. John's is off a colossal collapse allowing Coach K to reach 1K in the Garden. If the Jays had any sort of pulse I would have already taken them, but they're not even the good 3PT shooting team that they looked like they might be in the non-conference and now are missing one of their 3PT studs (Zierden, OFY). They have an okay shooting PG in Chatman, an attack the basket guy in Brooks who won't get through the zone and even if he did would get swatted by Obekpa, then Kreklow who never stayed healthy enough for me to get a read while he was at Cal and Dingman who never played much. Their big 6-foot-10 3PT shooter is enticing to shoot over the zone, but how reliable is he really? And then inside they are going to get outrebounded/swatted by Obekpa and he may even score a bunch of points because McDermott's teams are always Charmin soft. Great spot in a great location, but I'm not even going to entertain this. Creighton wins tonight

If you haven't been able to watch this Creighton team play they struggle to shoot the ball which is uncommon for Creighton teams. They usually get killed on the boards. And heres a stat and a huge problem for the team in Big East Play they have more turnovers than assists. Yea you read that correct that is a HUGE issue. If you turn the ball over and allow St. John's to get out in transition you will get killed let alone when they will make Creighton shoot from deep. Chatman was leading the way early on this season but has really struggled to score in Big East play shooting under 30% through out. Not a good match up at all for the Blue Jays and I heard Harrison for St. John's has finally got his calf all healed up so watch him go off tonight. I absolutely hate betting on St. John's and I never learn my lesson. Every year they have so much talent, but they just aren't a smart team - dumb fouls, and no hustle... Tons of individual talent, but they don't play team basketball. And Lavin is such an overrated coach.
