I'm sure the RAC will be a rockin tonight as Rutgers may be playing in its most anticipated game ever. The reveal of Dylan Harper and Ace Bailey, two pieces of the 9th best recruiting class in the land. Added Tyson Acuff from EMU, (22ppg last year), Jordan Derkack, NEC POY and DPOY last year, and others. This team defended its ass' off last year, and that may take some time for Pikiell to instill in this bunch, but their offense should be ready to go on night 1. Wagner was a super slow offense last year, and that's a bit concerning, but they shouldn't have to produce much, if Rutgers is as good as I believe they are.
Lehigh +14
This is too many points for me to pass up. Lehigh had an average year last year, but they did so without their best player playing after the new year. Higgins is now back and 100%, and the young kids that had to fill his shoes last season, got some very valuable playing time. They have a handful of guards that are fully capable of playing with P4 guards, including GTowns Mack and Epps. GTown will hold a size advantage up front, but they aren't who the Hoyas will look to for offense. As long as Lehigh can keep the offensive rebounds allowed to a minimum, they have shot to make this one close.
Vermont +17
This one is pretty easy for me. Cats return majority of their main guys from last year that won the AmEast (3 years in a row now), and 17 points is a lot to give an experienced team, that is extremely well coached. They play phenomenal defense and don't beat themselves with turnovers. Bruce Pearl and Auburn have a handful of new faces surrounding Bromme, and I'm thinking that in Pearls offense that seems to be pretty unorganized at times, they will turn the ball over in their first game together. When that happens, Vermont will take advantage. Or at least thats what I'm hoping happens.
Good luck tonight everyone!
