3-6 Saturday. Got knocked out by the flu, and a fractured root in one of my teeth, needing it to get pulled. I'm blaming all my bad juju on that tooth that is no longer with us. Time to fly.
American +1.5
The Eagles can inch one game closer to that Patriot League title with a win, putting them two games up on Bucknell who has turned it on recently. So I'd expect a great effort tonight. Army does have the revenge angle in this game, but they are coming off getting swept by Navy, where they also had revenge, and I think that was demoralizing for the Knights. May as well just play the ML.
Detroit Mercy -1.5
They lost the first meeting by 34 points, so I'm sure they haven't forgotten about that. This is also likely their last chance at getting a win at home this year. Revenge vs a bad team, on your home floor, should equal a win. Just need it to be by a bucket or more.
Vanderbilt/Kentucky Over 162.5
Two teams that love to run in the open floor, and although they only played to a mid 140s the first time around, teams usually struggle in Vandys gym so I expect more of a game that suits the Kats @ Rupp. Lots of 3 will be taken, just need a few to go in.
West Virginia -3.5
Total fade of Cincinnattis inability to shoot the ball. WVU plays very good defense, and has the best home floor advantage in the country according to KenPom. They do have Texas Tech next, but I don't think WVU is in a position to look past anyone at this point, as they need every W they can get. Bearcats also coming off a very physically taxing game @ Iowa St.
N.C. State +9.5
Laughable that this line opened at 11.5. UNC has no business being favored over anyone by that much, let alone an instate rival. NC St fans will be in the building and will be heard. The Pack have been competitive on the road too. Did I mention they played this same Heels team to a two point game back in early January. UNC/Duke gets a lot of attention, for good reason, but the UNC/NC St rivalry has just as much hate sewn into it.
UAB -4.5
The line seems a bit short, but I'm diving in anyways. Coach Kennedy has his team playing their best basketball of the season at a good time. They have only dropped two games since the new year, both on the road, to top 150 teams. Rice on the other hand has won just once since Jan. 8th, although remained competitive throughout. I don't think they have the legs to keep up with UABs ability to get out in transition with their defense, and how they hit the offensive glass.
UTSA/USF Over 153.5
Both teams want to run, both teams like to get shots quick in their offensive sets, and both teams have bucket getters. UTSA isn't gonna guard anyone, per usual, and USF may get caught sleep walking a little bit, coming off Memphis/UAB, and getting North Texas next.
