The ACC Tourney (and other tourneys) for that matter need to go to a thing of the past. There is literally no need for them in larger conferences; or even smaller conferences. Teams that have already made an at-large bid should not be forced to risk injury and needed stamina to win tournaments that are useless and for the casual fan.
Bottom line is that the REGULAR SEASON champion should receive the at-large bid. Especially in smaller conferences where usually only one team goes. Why else play the regular season? How many times have we seen good teams work hard all year long to win their regular season league championship only to lose in the tourney and be snubbed? Basically teams in conferences such as the MAAC, MEAC, Southern, Patriot, etc, etc play ALL season long to play in their respective conference tourneys to see who goes to the Dance. It's pointless.
Reward teams teams who work hard all season. Don't reward teams who luck out.
