An impressive list of names coaching these sweet 16 squads. Homer bias removed, who would you want to run your boys from here on out….

@wolfeman3
Few. A mid major out West without a football program with just over 7,000 students to be a basketball force is something that only a great basketball coach can accomplish. The only other school with less than 30,000 students is Creighton so Mcdermit a close second.

@luigitj
Well said…. I like that wild card vote for Barnes. Dudes a defensive technician…
it’s tough tho to argue with Few & Hurley, and both for different reasons. Stability for Hurley. The ability to make the most out of each situation and athletes Mark Few.
Agreed on Shaka as well….top shelf.
So with the Captain of the ship goes the team more often than not in this tournament…therefore I think we could see a Gonzaga vs UConn Final, and I plan to get down on that future once released

Went with Mark. What he is done with the Zags this season is remarkable. Maybe they should have won a title at some point in the last few years, but to keep them in contention with what he has this season is impressive. Maybe they win one when you least expect it? Probably not but I never thought this team had a hope of being a Sweet 16 team in December.

@Win4Ever
yeah Rick Barnes haha-good Monday morning humor-sure he's a good recruiter-some of those Texas teams were loaded with talent, but they couldn't win when it counted-maybe because he cost me money in 2010 and 2011; Hurley for me--Few also deserves a mention-the only reason that I knew about Gonzaga before Mark Few was that John Stockton went there...he has done a great job there!

Without question Hurley. He’s got these kids playing smart and on a high level. The energy on both sides is unmatched.. he literally is making sure his kids are putting fear on his opposition especially on defense.

I don't think you can come close to having any type of argument that it is not Hurley.
I do agree with the comment on what Few and McDermit have accomplished at small schools is nothing short of super impressive. The run Few has put together at Gonzaga may not be matched for quite some time even without a championship.
All that being said IMO the best coaching job of the tournament to this point is Dana Altman. How he got Oregon even into the tournament was impressive and what they did as an undermanned team against Creighton was niuts.

Homer incoming but for good reason. Oats has done an incredible job with this Bama team.
He only had 3 returning players from last year and lost all 3 assistant coaches from last year as well. The transfers he's found were from North Dakota State, Hofstra and Cal State Fullerton.

And Dan Marino isn’t a better QB than 99% that played the position. UCONN won it four times before Hurley ever sniffed that court there. Interesting take on a guy who has been a head coach for five years and three of them in the NIL era.

Not even close Bob Hurley Sr., he's at every practice coaching up the Uconn squad up. So Danny gets the nod.Bobby needs to get back to the east coast.
