In a football stadium? These teams play all season in basketball gym's and then when it comes time to play the most important games we play them in a stupid cavern. Is the NCAA that greedy that on top of a tournament they make billions of dollars off of they want to squeeze some people down the sidelines 350 yards from the court for an extra 50 bucks?
College hoops has a widespread scoring problem as is. Making these guys play games in these settings is only going to make it worse. It has a huge impact on the games and really puts a stain on the end of the tournament. It has so much of an effect on the game that if the same game were played in a suitable basketball arena you would have an entirely different score/result. Just seems dumb.
Why not play the games outdoors in a 25 mph wind?

What is dumb is you not knowing that Syracuse plays in a dome, and they just played the regional finals in Syracuse. There have been some classic basketball games played in domes over the years.

It will give new meaning to the " hook shot " It 's all about the money . That's unfortunately the current evolution of collegiate athletics. I've been wagering for 30 years in an era when integrity was the only thing that mattered. Yes, some tried to cheat the system , but when caught they paid the price. Integrity made it easier to cap the outcome of games as well. I believe 30 years from now, players will have their own sponsorship deals, you'll their jersey's chock full of patches ( think NASCAR here ) and they will be far more difficult to coach.
Something to think about .
Best of Luck to You.

Thorpe, I think he was referring to a venue that was not fan friendly to watching a Basketball game. I have to agree with him on games played in stadiums used for football may not be the best venue for basketball from a fan perspective. I think he knows Syracuse plays in a dome.

The last 6 torunament games in Lucas Oil averaged about 145 points/game.

Was there five years ago. Was downstairs first level, base line extended, what would normally be good seats. But not even near court. No elevation so sightlines bad. Was tempted to go back this year but the only good seats are courtside, or thereabouts. Probably not available at any price.
Another money grab; or just giving as many people as possible a chance to get in the building at a final four.
It should be held in a basketball venue. Those tickets would be extra-precious. Doesn't make sense to have signature hoop event in football stadium.
