Yesterday I was the most confident I had ever been, I placed a $500 5 team parlay and the last leg was Oklahoma St ML, I went to bed when they were up 19 since I had to wake up at 3 AM for work. I woke up expecting to see over 12k in my account but was deeply hurt seeing nothing, I’ve had bad beats over the last 6 years of sports betting but this one hit differently. I was finally going to be totally out of debt. Anyone else miss out on great money due to Oklahoma state sucking?

Yeah, I had money on them too but not as much as you or others. Due to my undisciplined betting style years before, I wasted years where I had nothing to financially show for all the hard work that I did that year so I've learned to bet amounts that regardless if they win or lose, it won't affect my mood and I will still be able to sleep. This hobby is a life long continuous improvement process with many, manytrials and errors.
Good thing you went to sleep before the result because that surely would have kept you awake and extremely irritated the next day. Everybody in this forum knows how that feels like to lose a major bet and just be up late in the night, thinking about what went wrong.....
As with this hobby and other heart breaking losses, you'll forget this and before you know it, be betting again...
Let it go and move on.
"And this too, shall pass...."
BOL
"Schrödinger's bet." A bet that loses when you bet it but wins when you DON'T bet it...

West Virginia was down 19 in the second half @ +1500 ML. If I was you, in a situation where:
1. you needed 10k to get out of debt
2. your last leg was OK state ML
i would have bet $3-500 on West VA. I know people don’t like hedging, but if you seriously needed the money, that was a perfect opportunity to hedge and secure 5-11k

yea. i had 2k on them. i also had pelicans -1.5 and they blew a 10 point lead with 2 minutes to go.... just bad beats all around for me last night.
Ha, I also had Pels and OK St last night. Rough rough games, would have been a huge swing if I won those 2. I still can't believe the Pels game. That one hurts. At least the OK St game you can see the moose coming a mile away when they started their run.

Might be piling on, but...Unless you had nothing left to bet in your account to live hedge it's just poor betting on your part...and also if you had nothing left to hedge with in your account that is also poor betting.
Sounds like that win would have been a milestone win. That was a terrible beat I lost a much smaller parlay and a straight bet that I let ride.
I watched the game should have acted and made the +ev hedge.
Probably talking to myself as much as I am responding to your post.
Run better bro sucks feel your pain.

u had a $500 parlay to win 12k.... and last leg was Ok St ml....
"most people don't like hedging" is the WRONG mindset...
ALWAYS play parlays w/the Final Leg by itself (as u did), to ALLOW FOR Hedge opportunities throughout the game.
Just as 'sharinghan' stated above, you had a chance of up to 15/1 ... FIFTEEN TO ONE!! did it seem unlikely..? sure! unnecessary...? probably! but wtf happened...? you lost $500 instead of winning at LEAST 7K!!
IF you'd have thrown just $500 on it... you'd get bk $7500 (7K profit)...
OR... if you REALLY needed to "Get out of debt"... you put 1k on it.. OK St wins, you win 10.5K... WVa wins, u win 14.5K!!!
is EITHER Scenario bad???
Think Hard... step back from it, and Think Again.
You wanna be SERIOUS about making a profit? When you're playing multiple-team parlays... Hedge!!
g'luck

and I'm just trying to help... cuz I speak from experience!
before MY site started putting up "Live" betting several years ago, I actually had 2 8-team parlays approx 50 bucks to win 10k (their max payout) within a few wks of each other... I lost the last leg both times... came away w/zero profit... kicking myself. Now, I use a better site, and leave the last leg to be by itself... final game of the night, or even a gm the next day... LIVE BETTING IS PERFECT FOR THESE SCENARIOS THAT YOU ENDURED LAST NIGHT...
sure, u can always gamble w/o hedging.. it's your life and you're an adult. just think about it... and decide if you'd be happier w/the hedges previously discussed.
It's to your advantage in my eyes... I'm done now :P
