The score is 34-30 with 1:30 seconds and the losing team has the ball at their 25 and two timeouts. This list has NOTHING to do with stats, or overall who the best qb is, this is simply a list of qbs who I’ve watched (going into 22) and it makes my stomach uncomfortable as they march for what seems an inevitable touchdown. Be prepared to say “huh”! , and feel free to add . In order
10. Frank Harris utsa - Veteran in the system, comfortable making plays in the the pocket but when the play breaks down great at keeping play alive and making something out of nothing.
9.Tyler your mom is a van dyke mia - I will never forget live betting against them last year vs Virginia and having my feet up and bet cashed when he came in the game , the only thing that saved me was that missed kick. his impact was immediate. First round body, first round arm and ball placement still need to see him in more pressure situations but in general I don’t want to be on the other side of his gun.
8. Jordan Travis fsu - hear me out. There is a little lord giveth lord taketh away with Travis , however there is something truly magical about his game when the play breaks down. He is insanely twitchy and instinctive. He represents in general the one thing I hate betting against the most and that’s a qb who can successfully extend plays. He could be a little more accurate but it’s just unsettling betting against him because he’s great during chaos.
7. Holton Ahlers ecu- I think he has started every season and this will be his fifth, big arm knows the offense thoroughly. Can make every college throw even though I do think he will get drafted late. A lot of experience and he’s played in a lot of tight games also he scrambles to throw when he’s improvising , even though he can tuck it .
6. Little Pineapple maryland- He’s aggressive like Grant Wells ( va tech) but without the turnovers. Sunday arm and can make every throw. Throws and absolute parachute of a deep ball that just floats to his wrs , he scrambles to scramble but he can scramble to throw as well. Makes him all the more dangerous that he has a few sunday wrs at his disposal. I think his confidence this season takes him to another level and that makes him the most uncomfortable qb for me to bet against in the big ten.

5. Grayson that was a close McCall ccu- A lot of experience in that system and I don’t know if you have ever watched a ccu game all the way through but it’s a bitch to be on the other side of betting them. The offense is a unique option spread hybrid and it works because he does both equally well and deadly accurate. He always makes a good read and doesn’t turn it over.
4. This is where the controversy begins. Malik Cunningham UL- do I think he will be an early round qb? No. But I’m some regards it’s similar to coastal , it’s a unique offense that when executed well is really difficult to defend . Malik executes it well and game on the line I just feel he would pull some bullshit out you can’t guard against. I must admit give more time I may re rank him, nonetheless I shit bricks when I bet vs Louisville because he’s a nightmare when the play breaks down , he definitely scrambles to scramble but it could go for 65 yards so there’s that.
3. Anthony don’t call me ar15 anymore Richardson UF. - Fuck the noise. He is the best athlete on the team and he touches the ball very offensive play. Watch the film , dude has First round arm and body. And I’m not calling him an incarnation of vinny young or scam newton but I’m also not , not calling him the incarnation of the two. He can do anything when healthy and I want nothing to do with being on the other side of his rifle, I’m not saying he always delivers I’m just saying he gives me Vince flashbacks.
2. Sam Hartman - dude is super confident, efficient, accurate and aggressive. That’s a nightmare concoction to bet against. In my opinion throws the best deep ball in college . He’s just a smooth operator with one of the smartest coaches not just in college but , Dave clawson is one of the smartest minds in football.
You want controversy
1. Jayden Daniels- he’s the Robert horry of college qbs. He is incredibly average to above average for most of the game , I don’t know what it is but when the game is tight he just plays better. I really cant sophisticatedly articulate what it is but he is just magic when the game is on the line . He makes every throw , nice deep ball smooth scrambler. Once again this isn’t a science it’s just what my stomach says when I’m betting against, and Jayden has some magic about him that I want nothing to do with when the game is on the line.

Honorable Mentions - Jarren Hall BYu, DTR ucla, Will Levis UK. Brett Gabbert Miami Ohio , KJ Jefferson Arkansas
Names I did not forget , but they don’t my tummy backflip
Cj Stroud he’s good don’t get me wrong but I haven’t seen killer in his eyes yet.
Bryce Young ,he’s good and I have seen killer in him during that sec championship game but in general he doesn’t make my tummy flip( A&M game specifically comes to mind)
will rogers, loves his game and I think he is the truth but one to many times in a close game I have seen slight bewilderment in his eyes BUT… I do think he could become a killer and I think he is closer to the 10 than you may.
clayton tune - yo. I struggled with this one , on the surface he should be close or in the top ten but I can’t shake the fact that every single game he will make two throws or plays that’s just fucking maddening, also I see a look of bewildered way too often.

I made a mistake and left Jake Haener from Fresno off the top ten list but he needs to be there. for similar reasons to Jayden Daniels as far as him balling when the game is on the line. I think he has room to extend plays when the play breaks down , but he is unexplainablely clutch.

I really love this thread and thought and agree with many of your points. We all have those QBs that when in a situation like that we say to ourselves, “ Damn I’m screwed” ??

I always wonder when it comes to guys like Bryce Young or CJ Stroud who play with a lead 99% of the time... does their clutch gene get tested enough? A fair portion of NFL quarterbacks don't come from hyper successful college teams. Almost like having to fight for wins with an average team is much better for development than sitting back and obliterating the competition.

This. Which is why long term I think Sam Howell will be an eventual starter and have a decent NFL career. He kept Carolina in every game while being pressured all game. But he always gave them a chance.

Nice breakdown of QBs… I think we’ve seen a new Clayton Tune after this week and your assessment of Stroud is accurate…haven’t seen the killer in the eyes yet… always looks dumbfounded when I’m a pressure situation…although he DID make a couple let completions when he needed to…it’s just not gonna get it done vs Bama..

Tua's brother have a little Mahomes in him??? Remember, Mahomes was putting up numbers and could throw insane deep balls or across the field lasers that few QB's would try on a scramble ....and then in the NFL with the right coaching, and players, became god-like and crazy good on the scramble ala Russell Wilson but on a whole different level
I think he might end up a better NFL QB than his brother despite the greater college career for his brother, and its only because he can avoid better and throw the bomb better in a tight pocket
Proving is hard. Talk is easy.
