How about the 3rd quarter on 4th and 2 up four points and New Mexico goes for it. What is this coach smoking. Does he think he is the coach for Florida state

actually there was still great hope when New Mexico faced 4th and 20 from their own 5 with 3:45 left and no timeouts, that is the easiest go for it ever of all time. It doesn't matter how unlikely it is to pick it up, it's impossible to win if you punt with the no timeouts, Davie still had a chance to win and inexplicably willingly chose to lose the game, it's beyond inexplicable....

I see your point but I think he saw the writing on the wall...when he didn't make the 20 yards he will undoubtedly give up an easy touchdown......

It doesn't matter though, you still have a chance to win. If you miss it on 4th and Fresno st scores who cares, it doesn't matter. Your only objective as a head coach is to win, not to make the score look slightly closer. I just don't understand unless there was something shady going on. If you punt it's impossible to win, simple as that, if you go for it it's still possible to win. I just don't understand as a head coach how you can be presented with two options, one where winning is completely off the table, or one where winning is still in play how you can ever in good conscience take the option where it's impossible to win. Yes i'm pissed bc i bet 2H O but honestly I'd be just as irked if I were a supporter of that program. He willingly chose to lose, he was presented with two options, one where winning was very close to 0%, i'll be nice and say .01% or one where winning was still possible, let's say 2%. If I were the AD I would fire anyone on the spot if they turned down a chance of winning even if it were only 2%-0% just so they could lose by one less TD, it just doesn't make any sense. Its inexcusable quite frankly.
