Correct, there is no legal way to defend the quarterback slide at the goal line, because you don't know they aren't going to dive, and when they are low, they only place you can hit them is the head/neck area (which is level with the ball on a slide), and the only way to stop them at the goal line is with a forceable hit.
So at that point, you have to instruct your players to just let them in, you have already given up the td at this point.
Unless I am missing something?
And yes, I think qb should not be allowed to slide at goal line because of this conflict in the rules.
Look for a rule change after this play next year....

Well yea, i agree, the personal foul before that is stupid and unacceptable, but this goal line penalty is completely ridiculous. There is nothing the defender can do.

You see it all the time in NFL too and the biggest offender is Mahomes, where he makes a move like hes gonna slide and then gets an extra 5 yds before going out of bounds.
