Most of the CFB world is down on Texas since getting waxed at BYU. However, key injuries have plagued them early in the season. Thursday night Texas' best offensive playmaker, Daje Johnson, returns to the lineup. Even though starting qb David Ashe will still be out, Case McCoy is a senior and adequate Qb. Make no mistake Texas will look to run the ball first. And why not? Iowa St cannot stop the run - they surrendered 227 yards to Northern Iowa and are averaging 177 yards/game against.
Iowa St strength of schedule at 94 compared to Texas 74, moreover, Texas has the edge on both lines. Iowa St Qb still not fully recovered from an ankle injury will hamper his duel threat capability against a fast Texas Defense. Only concern here is Texas looking ahead to Red river game, however, they are coming off a bye week and are not in a position to underestimate any opponent with a 2-2 record. BOL to everyone.
