Arkansas Razorbacks in trouble...

As a homer, I fell for the local hype and bet the Hogs over 8.5.  After watching the first game, I am reminded how much difference a coach can make.

I fell into the trap of thinking that if the talent is there, we will perform. Not the case.  The situation we have is somewhat like having a substitute coach.  John L Smith has a partial year contract and no power...like a babysitter.  

We all know what human nature is like with a substitute or babysitter.  Business has not been taken care of...

Fade the Hogs all yr and you will be ahead.  This season will not be a representation of the teams' actual talent.  GL to all.

Razorback fan myself. def concerned after watching that 1st game, however I am not going to put too much stock into that. this is still a very dangerous team

I appreciate your honesty and, as a Bama fan, hope you are right... at least in 2 weeks. I really hate it for Wilson. I think he is a fricking MAN and have nothing but respect for him.

LOL....Can we just forfeit!!  Wilson was the one position we had an advantage at, both last yr and this yr.  He is likely out for a while.  I've heard concussion, broken collar bone, shoulder...who knows.  Wouldn't matter with our team this yr.  Best thing for him would be to miss the brutal beating he's gonna take in the SEC, and be healthy for the combine.  He may actually be a better NFL prospect than Mallet ever thought of.  I couldn't believe Wilson survived Bama last yr.  If it was NFL, Bama would have gotten fined multiple times for the way they planted him, some late.  Bama will likely win by 20+ with Wilson...30+ without.  Good luck on a repeat!  Should be in it.

Last wk people said I was crazy while saying we may have trouble with teams like Aub and Miss St at their house this yr....

I never called you crazzy. Clearly and sadly you were right, still love the razorbacks, and could actually start getting some value pointspread wise, now that there weaknesses have been completely exposed

if tyler wilson stays in the whole game, the entire team, both O and D, plays differently, and ULM does not get the confidence.

john l smith was not responsible for tyler wilson sustaining a concussion.

you guys are making me laugh.

people called me crazy in July when i told them that Aub and Miss St would be tough this yr on EVERYONE they play,

i predicted in July that the Aub-Clem opener would be a 7 pt win either way,  and some yay-hoo idiots said it would be Clemson by 14, even when we all knew in the summer that Sammy Watkins was most likely suspended,

there are idiots born every minute,

Arkansas NEVER WAS a blowout type team even when petrino coached because Ark never had a great D in the last decade, so to think john l was gona come in and do something magically with the D would be galactically stupid

I never said it was John L's fault...directly.  He just isn't the solution.  He has been given the job of head baby sitter.  I just know we don't practice or prepare like we have been under Petrino.  This will show with Tyler in the game some, and it will be UGLY if he is out.  

From what I hear today, it's a concussion.  Tyler is day to day.  I hope he sits out and doesn't risk further damage.  Risk not worth reward...not gonna stop Bama.  We will likely lose by 20-30pts with Tyler.  30+ without him. 

Get some Bama and make some money.  Vegas still hasn't caught up with the injury riddled Hogs.  GL

Been fading Hogs every week But being on the road may not be so bad for a team reeling like the Hogs.  TAM was beaten by a mediocre FLA team.  Then rolled two patsies.  Of course Ark not capable of doing what they've done, but 14 seems like an extra 7pts to me.  Ark still trying to find their new identity.  Maybe seeing +14 to TAM will create some focus this week.  We have a great RB in DJ, if the coaches smart enough to play him more than 7 plays.  He could also help sustain more possession time, which will help the one of the worst D's around.  I may actually put a small bet on the Hogs this wk. Good Luck John L.  Pat em on the butts if we get down too much!

I agree the Razorbacks might cover that pretty large number if for no other reason than Wilson, but it's close because, under John L., this team has no real will to win - a wish to win perhaps, everyone wishes to win (including the lottery), but no will to and especially under adversity, this team will not get it done.  That's completely on John L and I think testament to his ability as a HC.

If aTm gets on a roll and goes up a couple TDs in the first half, it's over.  Should hogs keep it close into the 3rd quarter (whether thru turnovers or if Wilson connects on a bomb or two), then Ark likely covers the number. I personally would not bet the game because of these imponderables. Under no circumstance do I see Hogs winning; Razorbacks are 1-4 after this week.

Anybody can pick a loser, but WTF was I thinking!!  As a gambler, you must have discipline.  I promise myself I will not lose betting ON the hogs the rest of year. If I lose, it will be because this disfunctional team finally has a game.  I like to find dogs in good spots, but this teams best game ATS was against Rutgers when they got within 19 pts of the spread!!  And I was STUPID enough to bet them against a hungry A&M team with double revenge.  Most teams Arky has left have revenge, and several coming off bye weeks.  You are a true gambler if you put any money on this Hog team.  As a homer, it hurts to see this happen, but it's reality.  We are that bad.  Fade the hogs...every week.  See post #1!

When they finally cover one, they will likely hit the next too.  But it's fade city here out for me, til they beat me.
