Army +14 over Duke ** Tough game..last week actually took Duke -13.5 over Army when I went to Borgati...going to reverse the play and take Army...Duke last yr lost to Army 21-16...even though their defense held Army's rushing attack to a season low 226 yds..Army was No 1 in the nation in rushing avg +360..then Duke Played Geo Tech's wishbone and their defense again did a great job..last yr Duke lost a fumble and had an interception and had a blocked punt that Army scored on..after Duke lost to Army they won 6 in a row...Duke has most of its defense back...has done well in past and has top rb's back and QB...also Wr's.. a lot of talent..meanwhile Army lost 4 Ol and superstar Qb Bradshaw who gained 1,700 yds...Bradshaw was amazing running inside...Army won 10 games because they took care of the ball...think with 785 carries they lost 4 fumbles....50 Td's on the ground, held the ball avg 35 minutes per game....thats what Monken has done to this team...discipline....the OL has been replaced..but they way Army runs its scheme it doesn't matter.. The technique is the same..they are pushing forward..no pass blocking..so against the much superior Duke DL it doesn't matter...Army has 2 outstanding fullbacks..power inside rushing.. Woolfork had 1,400 yds and 12 td's...but former middle line backer Davisdon is a bruiser...if its 3 rd and 2 everyone in the stadium.the opposing team, coach,TV announcers and the guy selling popcorn in the stands knows Davidson is getting the ball...don't have any stats but its 99 out of 100 times Army gets a 1st down....he had 4 ,100 yd games before he got hurt...Walker the slot back has outside speed and if he turns the corner on a pitch when 10 guys are jamming the middle he could be gone..the key is hopkins the new qb...in the Navy game he replaced Bradshaw when he got hurt and played great...the question is can Hopkins run inside like Bradshaw..everyone knows he can't throw..either could Bradshaw...what scares me is Woolfolk,Walker and Hopkins are all 5'9... Army has 8-9 defensive players back from last yr...they are always well rested because Army offense dominates the clock...Duke has played well vs options and more importantly has had time to prepare for Army since its opening day...think Dukies win but the Black Nites keep it close..not a strong play because Hopkins is unknown... back tomr with North Texas-Smoo

the Cutcliffe era accounts for 18 of the 20 games since 1995 that Duke has been a double digit favorite. In those games, Coach Cutcliffe is 13-4-1 against the spread, including a 44-3 drubbing of Army in 2015. In that season, Army was also starting a new quarterback against a Duke team with fairly high expectations.

Also worth noting wind speeds were very high in Annapolis last year for that game which severely limited Duke ability to pass the ball. High winds always favor the running team. Wind speeds effect the ball in flight at anything 12mph or above... No such issue tomorrow in Durham. Friday night lights. BOL bro.

Army doesn't play in Annapolis, Navy does. Army is located in West Point in upstate NY. Everyone should know that.

Not a huge play because Army is replacing Bradshaw who was by far their MVP last yr. lets not forget Bradshaw started 25 of last 26 games and won 18 of them...Hopkins watched him all last yr and threw for 6-18 for 76 yds..also Bradshaw's hands off and pitches were on the money....Hopkins beat out a few other qb's in spring training and got the job but still struggled...in the 1st few possessions we might be able to see "what gives"...this could be a great " live betting " game if the experienced Duke D shuts him down inside..Duke has some All ACC linebackers...2 yrs ago Duke beat Army at home 13-6...but that was in a down pour of rain...the year before Duke won 44-3...but Armys coach Monken is a turnover freak... should be a good game..over-under is 47...tough to predict...Duke will score.Jones Dukies qb has over 5,000 yds passing and 30 Td's,and rushed for over 1,000...but Army has had his number in the 2 times they faced him with just over 200 yds passing and 77 yds on 40 carries..well below his avg..."nites have scored a combined 30 points in last 3 meetings"..so I would lean towards an under but might pass on this...Foster Army's slot back who earned a starting spot is out tonite...small play for my Black Nites...since I live in Army's backyard last night went down to the River and had dinner. Met about 5 or 6 cadets....asked them " how are you guys going to do tomorrow night"? Four said they would win outright...one said we are going to get killed..but the others pointed out to me he was from North Carolina"..Go Black nites good luck
