Gonna be a fun week this week. Can Ohio St hide/cover their deficient offensive line? Can Penn St overcome their lack of explosive plays? Really thinking Buckeyes have the advantage with their WR group. Quick passes could stymie a hard pass rush. The old athletes in space routine. Penn St could find a way to bust big running plays against Knowles D. And how much contact in the secondary will the refs allow? Hope to see a good chess match.
Same old MSU. So much potential on paper and they choke most often. If they don't choke Saturday they cover, if it's MSU football as usual they don't.
Made a play before last Saturday, Penn St +5.5. Not really confident on this play, just thinking it should be close.

Yeah my first impression is Penn St has the advantage against that OL. I don’t care how good your skill guys are if the QB doesn’t have time none of it matters. OL is the most important position group to me.
Then on the flip, how good is Penn St offensively? Big test for the kid Allar, people rip UM’s schedule but Penn St quietly has an equally bad if not worse strength of schedule to date. Allar a drop straight back to pass kind of QB so if the run game gets stuffed he might be in for a really long day. Mobility at QB against OSU is very important imo. I don’t think the OSU defense is as good as the media seems to think. Struggle getting pressure, see lots of running lanes, and the secondary outside of Burke is very questionable imo. They just haven’t played anyone capable of exploiting it the way the better teams did in 2022.
Oh and there’s the JF stats where he’s like 2-11 (2-17 for his career) on the road vs top 25 teams, 0-9 on the road vs top 10 teams. He’s just a complete loser & if he can’t get it done next Saturday then it may never happen for him at Penn St.
I lean PSU plus the points too as I just think OSU is hanging on by a thread and if they do win it’ll be squeaking one out again similar to ND - where they probably should have lost. Need to look a little deeper into this one though wouldnt just “play the numbers” in this one

Wisc with OSU next low line =suspicious possible look ahead but can Illinois win?
Rutgers good season comes crashing down with an Away game, which they rarely win, and after this week, 3 straight top 25 opponents.
Penn State 12-0-1 ATS last 13 games. If they win this week I expect the lines maker to adjust. Penn State future games include this week OSU and Michigan. Their other games opponents are Middle or Bottom B1G teams.
Until Penn State starts winning these big games I have to trust history. Penn State still has their own issues and a team like Ohio State can expose them. Will they ?
Nothing is ever in the bank until it is in the bank

At first glance I initially liked Penn State +4.5. After looking at it, It's OSU or pass. Penn State hasn't played a team with a pulse on offense. The highest ranked team in total offense is West Virginia ranking 78th. That is hard to do.???? If any defense is overated, it is probably Penn State given their lack of competent opposition.
On offense Ohio State is obviously not as good as they have been, but the are still the best offense by far that Penn State has seen. Their offense is also significantly better than Penn State's. OSU averages 6.94 yards per play. Penn State averages 5.53 ypp.
Defensively Ohio State allows the 2nd least ypp at 4.0 behind only Penn State's 3.44 ypp vs a harder schedule. OSU allows 3.15 yards per rush and is 3rd in pass efficiency defense. Thinking Penn State struggles to score.

They’re built somewhat similarly to Michigan, just a step below imo.
Also have to take into account JF pours it on when the games are well out of reach so their stats are a little skewed.
I can make a case for both. Agree with most that points may be at a premium this week. I do think OSU will need someone to step up in a major way on defense. Last year JTT literally won this game by himself. Penn St, imo, is a better/healthier team this time around.
Schedules are an easy thing to knock but good teams are good teams regardless of who’s in front of them. We can at least give Penn st that.
Will be a fun one to discuss and hear different view points through the week - appreciate the replies guys!

And Burke left the last game with an undisclosed injury.
It's all about game planning, execution, field position, turnovers, etc. And let's not forget the refs. A couple of ticky-tacky PI calls can change a lot. Penn St needs to make Bucs one dimentional. If Bucs get the run game producing it's all over for the Lions. I don't think the Bucs can.

very questionable pass defense? Betting all 3 of their cb's get drafted. Not to mention they were 3rd in pass defense efficiency without a strong pass rush....only thing keeping OSU from beating Penn state by 2 + scores is Day and injuries. Game way closer than it should be.
