B1G week 8

How are we in week 8 already..

Unders are apparently not my thing, 0-2 on those last week in b1g play, push on UCLA. The travel bug struck again with Washington, Ohio St going cross country and losing. Minnesota went to UCLA and won late in the game. 2 cross country road wins this season have happened on UCLA's field. Penn St just won @ USC. Otherwise it's a big ol 0. Just something to keep in mind. 

I don't think there is a more overrated team in the country than Oregon right now. Feel very confident they get popped in the not so distant future so will be looking for that spot. Ohio St still has a boat load of issues on the defensive side of the ball. Denzel Burke looked like the poster boy for why you never return to school when you're a projected first round pick. Had a feeling Knowles might get exposed a bit in 2024. Will Howard ain't it at QB. Don't think he makes it through as the starter. Penn St guys... look out for Penn St!! 

Didn't make very confident bets last week and paid for it. Shoulda went with the initial thoughts. Like the card much more this week so lets get back on track.

Burke looked like what I saw on Sunday at my nephews pee wee football game in regards to any sort of defense 

That Ohio state game reminded me a couple years ago versus Michigan when McCarthy hit those few huge downfield throws. Knowles secondary still getting torched in big games…

Extremely over aggressive DC. He's very reliant on his 'guesses' which is not as easy these days. That was his biggest issue with Michigan too. It wasn't so much "stealing signs" as it was protecting them. I actually didn't expect Oregon to play that fast early in the game which is why I took the under. But if you go back and watch the game you see the Ducks line up, Gabriel with his hard counts/claps/whatever and then audible to the actual play once they know what the D is doing & can't switch out of it. The defense was out of position constantly and it was big play after big play. Along with a little luck... that "onside kick" was crazy. Super entertaining game between 2 good teams - would probably like OSU in a rematch though - both the travel and Autzen are very real advantages.

Big number tonight between Purdue/Oregon but Purdue is atrocious. If Oregon shows up they can/will score every time they touch the ball. Have the travel/off a big win angle against them here so no play for me but wouldn't be at all shocked with a 52-14 type game. Purdue just doesn't have the athletes anywhere on defense to match up.. and the 2's for each side might be an even bigger advantage for Oregon.

I really liked Michigan today but think the number has gotten to high. Illinois was really looking past Purdue a week ago and it's showing in the line. Coach B is an awesome coach for the Illini, take a listen to the way he's been talking about this game and you'll understand that the Illini will be ready to play today. Michigan is off a bye. Reset for the team that's much needed. Tuttle 2 full weeks with the 1's. I do think he changes the dynamic of the entire team and that Michigan will be a lot better the 2nd half of the year. Illinois has not been great against the run and that will hurt them today. If it's down below 3 I'd lean Michigan here but it's a no play for me at the moment. Could change.. we'll see.

Wisconsin has found something offensively. Might be a little over valued as they beat up Purdue and then a severely short handed Rutgers squad. NW has looked a little better too but numbers have Wisconsin 3 scores better so taking this under 10. UCLA playing better than their rating for sure, especially defensive side. Overall have Rutgers 7-10 points better today and hate the long travel aspect, if there's been one outlier though its ucla. I just think the Rutgers injuries are too much... they looked AWFUL a week ago and I expect this will be an ugly low scoring game regardless. 

MSU up to a full TD dog now some shops. Believe this is a huge game if they want to make a bowl game. They have @ UM, Illinois, Indiana still before finishing with Purdue and Rutgers. Currently at 3 wins, this one might be a gotta have it game. Iowa coming in over hyped after taking down UW last week. Numbers have this a near toss up and the Spartans have played a top 10 schedule plus off a bye. I definitely worry about Aiden the turnover Chiles vs Iowa's defense here but again all things considered I think MSU is live today.
