This game IMO has been hyped up more then the last 2 National Championship games. But for many many weeks now I have been in deep thought about this game. This game too intrigues me not only as gambler, but as a fan too. The real simple question is, who will win? Plain and simple. I know that sounds like the dull not out of the box type of question, but simply it's really the only question that matters. As I said, I have been really thinking and studying this game for some time and I have what I think is a pretty good take on it.
Several years ago, 2007 to be exact. Alabama was a football team that was simply looking for it's way. They had tons of historical football tradition, but they were stuck in what alot of programs go through from time to time called the " Dark Ages ". This was a program that lost to teams like N. Illinois at home, which btw.... snapped a 23 game losing streak by doing so. Can you imagine Alabama losing to team at home now that was currently on a 23 game losing streak? So yeah, are you with me now? This was a program that was trying to " find it's way ". A very loyal fan base too. A fan Base that was dying for a winner. A fan base that was hungry and desperate to re gain it's power. Then came Nick Saban. A guy who most didn't like. To be honest with you alot of Alabama fans were not happy he was hired when he was. Alot of you probably don't remember but Bama actually offered the job to Rich Rod first, LOL. But nevertheless Nick came and turned the program around.
Alabama's re gain to national power actually came at the hands of the Clemson tigers in 2008 when the season opened. I remember it quite well too, we were -4.5 point favorites. But Alabama won that game that night and really to use the term, the program was " born again ". Alabama football was back.
From 2008 to about 2011 the fans, players and Alum were what I thought grateful. They were humble and thankful that there once mighty and powerful program was again on top. They loved it. It had be too long and as I said, they were certainly grateful for it. But, somewhere around the end of the 2011 season these fans, Alums and players have grown to become arrogant and ungrateful. They almost seem as the universe is Alabama, and we are all just the small planets hovering around them. At times I have seen there fans laugh and snicker at the thought of someone competing with them. They have become delusional at times and not having the ability to see truth in front of them as they once did when they were humble and thankful. Now when you talk to the Alabama fans they have a " swag " about them as if you don't exist and neither does your opinion.
Since the beatdown Johnny football gave Alabama last November. The Alabama fans, Alum and players have stated that a beatdown is coming their way this Saturday like they have never seen before. Forget the X's and O's of the game of football! We are Alabama! You will not embarrass us. This game is already decided! WE ARE ALABAMA! We hate you for not being a 20 year old kid. We hate you because you made us look like fools! How dare anyone challenge us, we are Alabama!
The media, Alabama influenced ( Paul Finebaum ) has made a point to try and destroy the image or anything that has to do with Johnny Football. These guys HATE Johnny football. The state of Alabama hates Johnny Football. They have tried anything and everything to destroy this kids name. I have never in my life seen a flat out attack on a kid like these guys have done with Johnny. Yeah Johnny has done somethings that he shouldn't have like talking smack on the field or using his twitter account to voice his frustrations. But what really has he done to be labeled as this guy who is the worst human on the planet? Signed some autographs for money? Yeah, you would too, right? Went to a few concerts and got to meet the stars of the show? Yeah, I would too and so would you....had we had the chance. What else? Screwed more chicks then the average college guy? Yeah, none of you would have I bet. So what has he really done? He beat Alabama. That's his crime. He beat the all-knowing, most arrogant, most delusional, most self serving fans...alums.... media base and players in the game. How dare he challenge our spotlight! So what do we do? We attack him! When we get our shot again, we will beat him by 4 or more TD's.
There is one problem. You can't. You can't stop him. You can't stop the offense, you can't and you won't. This offense gives Saban fits and I don't care what any of you say about extra preparation. You can simulate it all you want and scheme all you want but you cant stop him, Johnny Football. No more of this nonsense of revenge or " we have been preparing for a year " nonsense. The truth is coming Saturday and his name is Johnny Manziel. Don't believe for one second this kid hasn't been waiting for this either, cause he has. The great ones strive in moments likes these. Johnny has been waiting and the time is coming. Come Saturday, Alabama better leave all that arrogance at home....cause the pride they have will fall in College Station if they think the Football world owes them something.
