I haven't read this thread yet but he just flat out rigged this outcome. I'm sorry there is literally not one single justification for punting the ball in the scenario he did. You have 3:45 left and no timeouts down by 11, it doesn't matter that you have a 4th and 20. If you punt it's impossible to win the game, if you go for it you still can win, it's as simple as that. I just stood agape when I saw him punt, he literally didn't try to win the game and I can't think of one single justification for that unless he wanted to influence the total and/or spread. Again, literally zero rationale can be given for punting there, you punt the game is over, if you pick up a first down you can still easily win, he literally chose the option of keeping the score closer even thought it meant that winning the game was now off the table. Even with a minute left he sits on the ball, I understand its a longshot at that point but how the hell do you not even attempt to score there, you never know, biggest joke of a coaching move I've ever seen. I've seen plenty of incompetent coaches but this a new one, a coach who willfully chose not to win so he could keep the score closer, absolutely disgraceful
