Boise v. FSU Thoughts?

Question

I&#x27;m a Gator fan living in Jacksonville so I really want the Noles to fall flat on their ass...so I am clearly biased. But I think Boise has a coaching edge and the game being at night takes away what could have been a humidity advantage for FSU since their players are more used to it.&#xA;Anyone have a lean on this game? &#xA;Also considering Colorado -13.5 &amp; Georgia -21.5 based on recent history and urgency of both teams.

Very skippable game for me (as is a lot of week 1)

FSU has been a shamble for a while and Taggart was, IMO a terrible hire. Sure he improved USF but if you watched them they won bc of talent and in his last year they often didnt cover as favs because they were so undisciplined and sloppy. Why bring him in when that was the problem the Noles already had?

But Boise has to replace their starting RB and QB, both studs. I never back a team that I have not seen the QB play. They also had to replace their D coordinator.

FSU has an awful secondary and awful special teams coverage.

It will depend on who fills the holes the best. lot of unknowns. For FSU after missing a bowl this will be a huge game. Also because Boise is one of the best nonpower 5 teams beating them would actually seem like a huge win.

I like UGA and Colorado way more than this game.

FSU “should” be better (hard to get worse). I think Taggart is looking at this like a must-win as well. If the Noles start out with a loss, his hot seat reignites immediately.

There’s just so much we don’t know about FSU until we see them play. Slight lean towards the over for me but I can’t place a wager on the spread.

Im a conspiracy guy. And When I hear all these stories about how hot Taggart seat might be at FSU, it really makes me wonder about the motivations of Kendall Briles. If Taggart looks bad, doesnt Briles become the obvious candidate to replace him?... and if that is the case, why would Briles put forth his best efforts? I mean.... all he has to do is make the offense better, which is pretty much a guarantee as there isnt anywhere to go but up.  FSU defense was the issue and thats Taggarts kitchen so if there isnt massive improvement, Taggart could be on hot seat regardless. Im with Boise here just because I think this game is close regardless of outcome.

I love FSU even if it may seem like a square bet... Florida State has so much more talent than Boise St at every position. Florida State should be way better than they were a year ago, especially along the offensive line, which was the root of all of their offensive struggles a season ago...

Florida State also hired an excellent offensive coordinator in Kendall Briles who has a history of turning bad offenses around in his first season, (FAU, Houston, Baylor) with a lot less talent then he'll have at FSU.

Boise State also has to replace 4 yr starting QB Brett Rypien, as well as stud RB Alexander Mattison.

Guys get this through your thick skulls until FSU fires Taggart they will not be any good ok. Keep looking for spots to fade him. Playing boise st sounds like aspot to play against FSU. I dont care if the boise state qb is a rookie or not. Ask your selves why is the spread so low for for FSU even though boise has a rookie qb. Vegas does not give free gifts.

As far as the spread goes it dropped to 4.5 here in atlantic city when I bet Florida state yesterday, 1 hour later it went to 6.5 and then off the board. I know the storm and moving to Florida state has some impact but big money came in on fla st. also i hear.

Compare 1st half stats to 2nd half stats in this one and you might see why I see some 2-face action coming from Briles.... Like I said, Im a conspiracy guy. Briles only needs to make people think his offense can get better. That first half vs Boise sold the fanbase that he is the right guy.... Now that 2nd half puts Taggart right onto the fire. Who benefits? BRILES!! He is the logical candidate once Taggart is fired and everyone should know this. In my book, The Briles (both Art and his son) are douchebag human beings... great coaches but just seem not to care about anything but their own careers. Wouldnt put anything past them... they are not stupid

Anyways, I expected something along these lines in this game vs Boise.... Offense shows signs of being special.... then fades... why? because Briles isnt stupid. He took the job knowing full-well that if Taggart gets fired, he&#x2019;s gonna replace him.... So why help Taggart keep his job?
