The Illini return 13 starters in Bielema’s 2 year. They also get a 5 year transfer in QB DeVito , who started all 4 years at Syracuse. Bielema loves to run the ball and I see them doing that early and often. Wyoming will slow them down early but eventually the size and speed will wear them down. Wyoming only returns 8 starters from last year. Their defense allowed over 180 ypg and 4.5 ypc against weaker competition.
Northwestern +12.5 3*
I am a Scott Frost fan but so far at Nebraska he has not been able to make it happen, going only 15-29 in his 4 seasons. On the other hand, Northwestern has had a winning record in 5 of their last 7 years. They struggled last year and have always bounced back to have a winning record. Their starting QB was top 5 coming out of High School and should improve a lot this year. Nebraska beat them badly last year, so we get a little revenge factor. Northwestern has beat Nebraska the previous 4 years. I will take the points.
