Winning is contagious, there is a certain mystique that comes with teams, programs, that win consistently. the Patriots have had it, Alabama football, Duke basketball, UCONN women hoops, and now, Clemson. Dabo has this program winning not with just talent but with that same mystique that seems to follow winners, and Clemson is a winner. They have been under the radar all year because of conference affiliation and even though favored vs Ohio St, most people I believe thought they would lose. Another national championship game for them, a first for LSU in awhile. I love Joe Burrow and what he has done but the pressure is on now and Clemson? Been there, done that. Clemson is an SEC team in another conference, that's all. Once again they're not expected to win. Maybe they won't but they'll be in this game and LSU is about to have the fight of their lives come tomorrow night. I'm taking the 'MYSTIQUE" who I

Love Clemson! LSU are the darlings of college football this year and Clemson is getting no respect. Give me the team with the best defense in the country and the best coach in the country.

Clemson's defensive coach is one of the best, I'm sure he has a few gimmicks to make Burrow uncomfortable. What people don't realize is a lot of time Clemson didn't even play their defensive starters in most of the games in the 4th quarter. The strength of this Clemson game is against the pass.

For the books, to elaborate on Clemson being under the radar- In regards to winning the national championship, yes for most of this year, absolutely. If you recall Clemson, while winning early on they were not winning impressively. Lawrence was struggling and in fact Clemson escaped Chapel Hill with a one pt. win because Mack decided to go for two and the win, and the Heels failed. Meanwhile Ohio St, Ala, Lsu were doing their thing and not just winning but winning impressively, remember this is college and just winning is not enough. We saw Georgia, Penn St, and OKL leapfrog CLEM in some polls. They did finally right the ship but in the meantime LSU and OHIO ST were still looking like world beaters. So because of their slow start they did not look like a national championship team not just my opinion, Herbstreit, Fowler and the ESPN boys said the same thing. Based on past performance that was fair, all the while remaining undefeated but getting better and now peaking. So yes they were not apart of Natl Championship conversations and were under the radar in that respect, despite all their recent success and being defending nat'l champs. Thx for your input!

And 4headies while Sam Howell, QB, UNC, may not be a household name, yet, he will be an ALL AMERICAN QB next year and if the Heels can continue to improve with the guidance of Mack Brown, UNC will provide CLEM stiffest challenge again next year. And depending on how the season goes for the team Howell certainly could be in NY for something called the Heisman. Ask anyone on Clemson, or better yet, TEMPLE how good this true freshman is. So Clemson has faced a top notch passing attack with an outstanding NFL prospect WR named Dazz Newsome to boot, make no mistake.

Onepump, I don't play a lot of props but I'd have to say Lawrence over 299 looks enticing. You can throw on LSU and you have to believe that Clem is going to have to have success throwing because as good as CLEM's defense is, Burrow and company are going to score sum points. Don't be surprised to see Lawrence take off running again like he did to OHIO ST too. GL

Good write up @ mrusso....Have a question about the opening odds for both teams. ? before the season started : Its something like 125/1 for Clemson to win NC ? ..what about LSU ?/// i think it would be around 800/1???? Alabama was 150/1.. anyone knew.
I think clemson win this game 35-31....

dam onepump, went and checked out sum props and yea couldn't resist a couple. Took both QB's, first player to score TD, Lawrence +800, Burrow +1000. Fun bets but good odds- if I get lucky
