Coaches Poll Stupidity

This week Florida State beat their rival, 5-6 Florida, by 9 points on the road. Washington beat their rival, 5-6 Washington State, by 3 points on a last second field goal at home. 

Despite this, Washington leapfrogged Florida State in the Coaches Poll this week. This makes ZERO sense.

You must not watch CFB much?

why does it matter? If Washington beats Oregon they are in. FSU plays Ville who just lost to an average Kentucky at home. FSU best wins will be LSU and Ville if they win next week. Both teams undefeated and win their conference but… UW will have beaten Oregon twice if they make it to the playoffs.  Coaches poll means nothing. Who cares where they are ranked. 

They had already jumped them in the AP & playoff polls last week, as their overall body of work is just better. But as dave says, what does it matter......this week will determine the playoff teams.

I would be.  

Never believed a team should play another team twice in a season.  

The first game should mean something.   

Pointing out the obvious, but Washington still has its healthy Heisman contender QB and Florida State does not...That's why...

I agree w/longhorn. The televised viewing community and media would rather see the Noles play Ohio State, a really decent 1-loss team.

polls only matter for TV to show ranked teams/matchups

 I agree about the first game meaning something. The media has Washington out if they lose this one but Oregon in, despite what they did to go 12-0.......doesn't seem right but that's CFB right now.
