College FG kicking

Question

Why do teams bother to kick beyond a 30 yd FG? It&#x27;s like a 20% chance it&#x27;ll be good. Might as well go for it. If kickers are this bad, wtf do NFL FG kickers come from? I&#x27;m :/

I ask myself that every week.  No clue why they&#x27;re so bad either.  Maybe they&#x27;re drafted from the World Cup team lol.

NFL kickers often come from other countries such as Australia and the UK.

&#xD;&#xA;&#xD;&#xA; EVERY starting FG kicker in the NFL played NCAA college football, and 29 out of 32 of them were born in America. The only exceptions are Sean Suisham who is Canadian, and Cairo Santos and Sebastian Janikowski  who both attended high school in Florida but Santos is from Brazil and Janikowski is from Poland.

Speaking of kickers, had UCF and their guy missed a 22 yarder & a 24 yarder in the same half. That's pathetic. Could kick better w/ a soft C
