We have two more games tonight. The first game matches the #1 & #2 Teams from the SBC with the added addition of Bowl Eligibility potential. Game 2 will begin a half hour later with two teams that know each other very well along with Bowl Implications and an undefeated record by the 19th Nationally Ranked Team.
For the 2nd time this week we head to Louisiana for a showdown between Georgia Southern and Old Dominion. GASU won this conference in 2014 and ODU was 1 of 4 teams to join the SBC in 2022. The other teams included Marshal, JMU and USM.
The Eagles bring a 3 game win streak with them while ODU touts 2 straight wins of their Own. H2H they are 1-1 SU, 1-1 ATS and 0-2 O/U. The total scores in those games never came close to surpassing the posted totals. Additionally both teams traveled to Georgia State with GASU winning by 17, 38-21 and The Monarchs winning by 7, 17-10.
When it comes to total Offense and Defense of play the Eagles hold the slight edge offensively while the Monarchs seem to be a bit more solid on the Defensive side.
These teams are somewhat similar however, Geo Sou outlasted 2 more teams than ODU. Lastly, with a win this evening GASU will have reached their 6th win on the season making them Bowl Eligible.
The line standing at -1 is 2 shy from the normal 3 point factor for Home Field Advantage.

Syracuse (5-1-0) vs #19 Pittsburgh (6-0-0) -5 & 62.5
The Second game tonight brings 2 very familiar foes together that began their series in 1916 where Pitt defeated Syracuse 33-0. 108 years later and 79 games played Pitt holds the series lead at 43-33-3. During this long standing rivalry the Cuse scored 20 PPG while the Panthers scored an ave of 20.87 PPG. Thats pretty close for scoring for that length of time and games.
Now let’s look at the last 10 mtgs and a more modern time. SYR beat PITT last season but overall they have dropped 8 of the last 10 games. The Orange have scored 23.3 PPG vs PITT the last 10 contests however, they have allowed the Panthers 30.8 PPG. At 5-1-0 the Cuse are 1 win away from Bowl Eligibility. Additionally their ATS record sits at 3-3 but are 2-0-0 on the RD.
Syracuse owns the 14th best Offense and 2nd Best at throwing the ball for about 365 YPG, but suffer with their Rush Offense as they drop drastically to #118 at 102 RYPG. They are clearly still very effective scoring ave 34 PPG and ranked that same number. QB McCord owns an ave QB Rating of 145.46 will most likely be without one of main Targets in Peña who is listed as Doubtful with a lower back/body injury.
The #19 PITT Panthers are already Bowl Eligible at 6-0-0 and are 5-1-0 ATS. They have the #11 overall Off and run for 176 RYPG. They also score 41 PPG. At QB Holstein possesses a QB rating of 152.2 and if you excuse his last game which was a poor performance by any account his rating jumps to 172.1.
This season Syracuse’s opponents have an overall winning record at 23-21. Conversely Panther opponents own a paltry 13-27 record.
All in all this should really be a great game to watch.

Thanks, no not cut and paste. As a captain, Batt Chief and then Deputy Chief (especially the DC position) I had to write multiple incident reports per day and they needed to read well in case it went to court in regards to said report. Additionally, as a DC I had to write reports for the Mayor to take to council during our weekly City Council Meetings. Haha! I must admit that it would be convenient to find something that I could cut and paste. If I did cut and paste I would give the Author credit to avoid plagiarism. Thanks again for your opinion.
