Colorado State @ Fresno State

First game for CSU, not sure what to expect from them, but Fresno get beat by Hawaii, so just based on that i would pick CSU.

What are your thoughts?

 i would stay away from this game like you said you dont know what to expect from CSU cause they havent played a game yet.  although last year they did beat fresno by 10 41-31

Anyone knows what is CSU strategy? Do they run or pass? Any major changes on roster since last year?

Fresno is not very good.  I wouldn't bet this game but I think CO State is the better team.

I just got off the phone with Steve Addazio and he is ready to run through a brick wall on Thursday. The Fresno Bulldogs offense is remnant of the NY Jets, and Addazio is the perfect coach to shut them down. Senior Marcus McElroy should have a big game running the rock for the Rams and they should win by 10.

CSU playing away and they have covid issues, so not sure how that affects their game tomorrow

Well I’m calling it Fresno st at home as dog. I can’t see CSU winning their 1st game with all those COVID issue and limited practice with Fresno st having a game already play they will play to win and I can also see a under play. GLTA!

Colo state does not have covid issues.  New Mexico did that is why their game was cancelled last week.

Interestingly teams playing in their first game Vs. teams that have played multiple games are 25-10. I THINK that's ats but it might be su. A stat I jotted down while researching but neglected to pay attention. Sorry.

For what it's worth addazio was just awful at BC .  What a disaster... he likes to run .. and run and run.   Big back fits his scheme.. best offensive player opted to the draft and Obrien is good yet turnover prone.  .  2 best lineman transferred out.  Lean fresno .  Very weak lean .  Qb should only get better in the new system

 Addazio was bad but at one point he had that team running pretty well when they had aj Dillon ... they had a pretty potent offense that worked decent ... well see if that translates to CSU ... not sure 

my thoughts... I have watched BC for years as I have family that are alumni.  I also have lived in northern Colorado for 30 years and follow CSU fairly close... 

i was not thrilled at the hiring of Addazio and his vanilla offensive schemes, but after watching bobo for 5 years i was tired up putting up 40 pts a game and losing to teams putting up 50... while never beating Wyoming or Air Force 1x during his tenure...   Addazio does bring some defensive schemes i like the young defense is finally getting some tenure, so it should improve... 

O'brien last year was fairly solid, some interception issues but has a good arm and some decent returning receivers, most notably the speedster Dante wright who also lines up in the backfield occasionally.  

*** one note, Addazio has still not named the starting QB for tonight's game.  Temple graduate transfer Todd Centeio is also in contention and by all accounts it is neck and neck.   O'Brien, more typical prototype pocket passer, Centeio brings the running element into question from the QB position.

I personally hate when coaches play this BS game of not naming a starter, especially when the incumbent was fairly decent with a crap coach and staff previously...   

For my $0.02, if O'Brien starts i will play CSU as I somewhat know what I will be getting with his passing game and McElroy the RB that goes 235 lbs...  If Centeio gets the nod, will probable be a no play for me as I will wait and see what he looks like game 1...  gl all... 

Just listened to the Ramnation podcast (search for it and you can easily find it) and they continually hinted at several key csu players being out. Also mentioned that Todd Centeio has grabbed the QB1 spot ahead of Patrick OBrien and their very good WR Donte Wright will not play.

 Running pretty well as in losing the pinstripes bowl to iowa.  The high point of his legacy .. losing middle of the road acc bowl bids.. 

To add to this, teams making their debut this season against a team that has already played at least one game is 19-7 ATS.

CSU coach comes from BC and brought 3 starting o-line with him, look for them to be solid at the line so theyll have time to throw and lanes to run in.

CSU ran well last season and I see that trend continuing in this game as Fresno just gave up 300+ on the ground to hawaii that has a similar running game as CSU. They may even lean on the running game if the normal starter at QB isnt playing.   Fresno is just a bad team and theyll show it again tonight.
