Dark horses to win it all?

really liked texas at 40-1, then Phil Steele being so high on them might have contributed to them falling to 30-1. Anyways i still like them as a long shot. Who you fellas got?

he's got the talent to win it all, but he lacks Sban's or Muschamp's killer instinct and he does not have a "leader" on the team ,like V. young or C McCoy ro overcome his otherwise soft demeanor.  that is indeed a long shot, but if mack grows a pair, texas could be undefeated at the end of  the regular season...in my opinion, we have as much talent as Alabama, the difference in the coaching...

I agree, that coaching and leadership is a question, but recruiting has been lights out  the last 3 years, and tons of experience coming back this year.  All they gotta do is make the title game and you are gauranteed  big payday

Dark horse to me includes Texas at 30-1. Good value IMO. 

I'm still analyzing but to me the value plays are
- team from SEC east. Just get em to SEC champ game and can hedge. Fla SC or Ga
- winner of b12. Why not Texas?
- PAC 12 winner. Very deep. 1 loss champ might get in
- ACC winner? Doubt it. Very competitive and choke prone. Clemson only realistic choice and maybe a good one

pokes got good value as well.  I agree about SEC east champ, like you said might have good hedging oppurtunities. Like the discussion fellas

UT has talent but they are lacking that "thing" that separates teams. 

Their D has drastically underacheived in recent years.

and 

Their QB situation is shaky at best. 

And their schedule is rough. Ole miss at home week #3, K St week #4, Ok week 6, TCU week 7, WVU week 9, Ok St week 10, Baylor week 12.  

That is 7 games that they can lose. They will not lose all but that is not an easy road and 4 loses is not out of the question.  and BYU on the road in week #2 is a game they should win but 

In short, UT is a team that has to show me something before I can get behind them.

I don't usually play futures, but having said that I'll throw out Stanford as a dark horse NC contender.  Winner of the P12 North on paper should take care of the P12 South winner.  The Oregon game is at home on a Thursday night and should have a lot at stake.  We'll see if anyone emerges at TE and WR, but this is a physical team overall.

Also, if a 1 loss team emerges from the SEC East, they'll get their chance to at least play for the right to be in the NC game.  I don't have a feel for which of the top three really has the best shot at this scenario.  Any SEC fans want to weigh in?

You cant bet a small conference team, even if they go undefeated they aren't invited to the big game

I got Fresno at 750-1.  The team that has a good possibility of going 12-0.  The Power conferences will need to slip up quite a bit to have them sneak into the NC, but i could not pass up the value.

Fresno can go unbeaten & won't get in the game, if you want a longshot then choose from a major conference

South Carolina has fallen to 30-1, I might take a shot on them as well as texas at 30-1
