Kickin’ it with Keenan Jones/Colt’s look-alike
Posted On: November 16th, 2007 by Dave ReardonRENO, Nev. >> For those who didn’t know it already, Keenan Jones showed once again that he is one of the UH football teams best athletes — that is if you consider 50-yard punts with hang time and 40-yard field goals athletic. The backup cornerback put on a kicking display at yesterday’s walk-through. Of course, it was with the wind behind him. He tried one punt into the breeze and it went about 20 yards.
Other “highlights” from the walk through:
* Cornerback Ryan Keomaka long-snapping
* Long-snapper Jake Ingram receiving the snaps from Keomaka, while wearing Colt Brennan’s No. 15 orange jersey.
“I’m not Colt Brennan, I’m Yul Brenner,” Ingram said, which is very funny, although I’m not sure exactly why. Maybe it’s because Ingram has a full head of hair, looks nothing like Yul Brenner and is 22 years old and has actually heard of Yul Brenner.
* The real Colt Brennan (more on his look-alike later) wearing Ingram’s 57 green jersey and throwing a few passes.

I’ve heard that a wager or two is made in this town from time to time. Right now, at 11:30 a.m. Pacific Time, you would still have to give a few points if you want to place a bet in a casino on Hawaii beating Nevada tonight. The line is dropping like snow in the Sierras in January, but it hasn’t turned over to Wolf Pack-favored status, at least not yet. If that were the case, it would tell you everything you need to know about whether Colt Brennan is playing or not.

There’s a guy here at the Silver Legacy who is almost the splitting image of Colt Brennan. It’s scary. UH should hire him to be Brennan’s decoy. If Colt doesn’t want to sign autographs or otherwise be mobbed, this guy looks enough like him that a lot of casual fans would be fooled. The most notable difference is this dude has linebacker arms.
I ran into someone close to Brennan last night. When I told the person that there was a Colt look-alike in the hotel, the person laughed and said, “Can he play tomorrow?”
