FIU is favored on the road against their rival FAU. FIU is only 4-4 and 3 of their 4 wins came as big home favorites. Last week they allowed 297 yards on the ground (9 yards per carry) to lowly Old Dominion. They are simply not good enough to be favored on the road. FAU is simply unlucky this season. Three losses when favored, two losses with lead at the half, two losses with lead after the third, lost to Miami Florida despite being tied in third quarter, one loss was by a single point and one loss was in overtime. With some luck they could have been a 3-5 or a 4-4 team.
Texas Tech +3 The Raiders are 5-3 on the season but in reality they could have been a 6-2 team. A very unlucky loss to TCU is responsible for their current record. And lets not forget, they had to face the mighty Baylor right after that loss. Their schedule was brutal this season. They already played Oklahoma, TCU and Baylor. These three teams are 21-1 on the season. Oklahoma State played 4 B12 teams and none of them is even .500.
Cal +6 (got it earlier this week)
All of the sudden, people see USC as a great team again. All it took as one big win. But that is how things work when teams like USC, ND, FLA, etc are involved. To me, USC is just a 2-2 P12 team.Tthey also have 2 wins out of conference against cupcakes and a humiliating loss to ND. Thats pretty average to me. Cal played 4 of their last 5 games on the road and it was hard for them to refocus for their last game after losing their first game of the season. They got some extra rest now for two weeks in a row and they will play insipired football.
