Seems to me folks this game comes down to 4 simplistic issues and none involve Hawaii:
a) Given the national scrutiny on Coach Weiss, will he have ND mentally prepared for the game?
b) This is not a BCS bowl, but the Hawaii Bowl.
c) Should ND lose, their season record will be 6-7 and 0-10 in bowl games last 10 (see b above).
d) All things being equal, is ND a better team than Hawaii and if so, notwithstanding the unforseen X-factor (fumble, INT's, Sack/fumble, Safety, blocked Punt for a TD, bad call/spot, etc), the Irish should win this game by 10pts or better?
e) ND is laying 2 for the game and .5 for the half.. If the answer is Yes to a & d above considering b and c, ND should be the play for the game and also the half.
I'm gambling on this logic. Anybody vehermently disagree?
My lean is ND -2 and ND -.5 for the half.

Thanks. This is a situation bet for me. I relaize that anything can happen and Hawaii may win tonight yada, yada, yada. However, if ND can't get it done, then what does that say about their program? I think this is a great spot for them to end the year on a positive note regardless of the bowl status. If it loses, no big deal. That's gambling, risk and taking chances. If we all did not take chances in life, would anyone get out of bed in the morning? Look, this is a hobby for me, not a living. Sorry to ramble..............

I dunno about this one. Thinking I may play on the total if anything at all. As a ND homer I just don't have the balls to take them. We suck. And have sucked since I was a wee lad. on your wager. But something tells me that if hawaii can beat cinncy, they can KILL ND at home......

My early lean was on ND -2. But the more posts I read, thinking Hawaii. But I agree with you that ND has MUCH more to play for here and is just plain BIGGER.

Forum definately giving Hawaii its share of attention, no doubt. There is plenty of reasons why ND will lay an egg today just as Hawaii will be overmatched. This could be one on those "don't overthink the game" moments. The so-called sharps appear to be on Hawaii and the "public" will be all over ND because of name recognition and reputation. I think this time around the cigar is just a cigar. Let's not outsmart ourselves. ND is the better program, they should be the better program and thus they should win this game.
BTW - if a sharp bets with the public, does that make him/her a temporary square or does he/she remain a sharp. And, is the reverse true? But I digress.........
