How significant is his injury? Broken ribs? All it takes is a few hits and he could be knocked out of the game. How good is Ohio st 2nd qb? I'm sure they will depend heavily on sermon and the defense and slow this game down

IF you paid attention you would have seen;
Fields down for one and one-half minutes.
One minute later Fields standing on sidelines drinking from water bottle while targeting review was completed.
One and one-half minute later Fields trots back on the field and promptly those a perfect pass.
No time to go the tent, no shots at this point. Had to have been after the td he received treatment.
He doesn't throw that td if he was seriously injured.

They NEVER even checked him out before letting him to return to the game!!!
Funny no one complained about that? No, they complained he said he didn't get a diagnosis.
Hell, they even looked at him in the tent before that touchdown pass!

As long as Trey Sermon is in the game Ohio St will hang with Bama... He's gonna show why he's better then Naji Harris today. The combination of Justin Fields n Trey Sermon is prob the best 1 -2 punch since what?...Leinart n Bush.... I'm not sold on Jones yet he hasn't faced any adversity all yr really as they've scored 35+ in every game they played until now .. Ryan Day, will have the advice of Urban n Fossil coming into this and I believe will have a great defensive game plan moreso then anything... Bama, will be gashed by Trey Sermon Tom u have my word... Regardless, I really think the game goes into O.T.. and OHIO St pulls it out by 6-7...

@Thekidmc11
hindsight it's easier to say but you obviously haven't watched Fields later in the year. Indiana has some decent players in their secondary that gave him a lot of issues...So did Northwestern...but you thought these Bama kids where different?

Apparently you read through the part; "As long as Trey Sermon is in the game Ohio St will hang with Bama..."
Let's change history and say Christien Barmore was a late scratch due to a covid positive and Smith was injured on his first touch and never returned along with Sermon playing the whole game. That's 215 yds of Bama offense removed, 3 td's. Also that's a lot of disruption of Buckeye offense removed and then add yards Sermon would have gained.
That's football. A very thin line swings the outcomes. The impact of two individuals who stepped up cemented that outcome. The unfortunate injury to Sermon and covid positives held back the Buckeyes. Too bad, that's life.
As far as Fields, the topic of this thread, I put 3 units on Fields over 42.5 yds rushing. Only ticket I cashed. Book I used didn't offer it until about an hour before kickoff, glad I waited.

@UNIMAN
Sermon is good but even if he plays that game isn't close. Injuries can change games but Bama was by far the better team. You're assuming no other players make plays with Smith being out? Yeah they aren't as explosive but the Buckeyes defense wasn't stopping them. Not sure if you pay attention to the trenches but that game wasn't close down there...bully ball
