Pitch a shutout for 59 mins and can't cover. Why is it always so easy to score when it's only gonna affect the spread and not the game?

Yeah I knew it was suss when they had multiple opportunities to get a field goal and every time there would be a penalty or a stupid sack or something to keep the cover within a TD. Just stinks.
