problem is he went from the Heisman betting favorite 3 or 4 weeks ago to coming into today having the 4th or 5th lowest odds

If you're solely blaming Ward for the loss, you ought to look closer at what the canes defense did - in this case giving up over 280 yards rushing when they were averaging giving up under 100.  Yes, he fumbled at the end but he doesn't play defense - but they sure could have used him today (wouldn't have done any worse).

If Boise State wins out and Jeanty keeps playing well he has to be given some serious consideration. Only loss would be by 3 points against Oregon and Jeanty went off for almost 200 yards rushing and 3 TD's

Miami needed to be undefeated for Ward to win it i believe

Ward had good stats, but he hung onto the ball way too long on quite a few plays. I wouldn't put the loss on him, but he didn't elevate his play today.

would love for him to win it, but I feel he’s gonna need some things to go his way that he can’t control

I don't understand the win out part. a player is one person as long as he does his part he'll be ok. if the team loses but he performs well how is that his fault.
