Well guys as strange as this will sound I didn't post a play Thursday but I lost a play Thursday as with AZ.State's 3OT loss to Oregon I lost my ASU futures play. 0-1 day -$100 25-20 on the season +$2,790. I don't like to say games were fixed but that OT review was just dirty.
Before I get to my plays I want to wish you and yours a Happy Halloween LY for a Halloween Party I went as Jameis Winston and my wife went as a crab. This year with the Bond movie coming out i'm going as James Bond Let's get to the plays:
1. Ball State -1 for $1,100
MAC battle today that you can call a "Bowl Elimination" game as both have 6 losses on the year{I realize neither team will go to a bowl but 1 will be officially eliminated today}UMASS is 1-6 coming off a 2H chokejob vs Toledo leading 28-10 at halftime losing 51-35. Ball State is 2-6 {1-3 in MAC}5 losses in a row off a 23-21 loss to C.Michigan last week which was CMU's 1st non cover of the year
LY these 2 met in a weeknight MAC game in Amherst that UMASS won 24-10. That loss would bite Ball State as they finished 5-7. Ball State had their worst rushing day of the season running the ball 30 times for 69 yards. They were outgained by 283 yards.The defense allowed 569 yards 424 passing from Blake Frohnapfel
I was considering UMASS last week as a play but on the covers injury report it said Frohnapfel had an elbow injury so I crossed the game off my list. UMASS has 2 DB's questionable for today's game plus their leading Touchdown scorer Marken Michel is questionable for the game. I think UMASS blew its load in the 2H vs Toledo and there's that old saying "Don't let the beat you twice" How can UMASS not? I like Ball State to gain revenge and win by DD
2.UL-Lafayette -11.5 for $660
ULM comes in 1-6 {0-3 in Sun Belt}5 losses in a row off a 27-13 loss at Idaho last week. The Warhawks were never IMO the same after allowing a 36 yd td pass with 9 seconds left in the 1H. Idaho outgained them 419-243. They ran 91 plays to ULM's 60, 1st down edge 28 to ULM's 15 and Idaho while they didn't run the ball for a ton of yards ran it 52 times for 174 yards including Elijha Penny rushing 36 times for 184 yards
UL-Lafayette is off 11 days rest as when last we saw them they lost 37-27 at Ark.State. The Cajuns are 2-4{1-1 in the Sun Belt} UL-Lafayette trailed 34-7 in the 2nd qtr and 34-14 at halftime. The Red Wolves killed them running 52 rushes 346 yards. The Cajuns qb Jalen Nixon at times looked like Superman and at times looked like Lois Lane BUT he became the 2nd qb in Ragin Cajuns history to throw an run for 200 yards in the same game{Brian Mitchell did it vs Colorado State in 1987}
Coach Hudspeth made the comment that he hasn't liked how the offense has played in the 1H of games. Coach Berry commented after the loss to Idaho" We struggled at times with our young WR's it just is what it is THEY HAVE OUT OF BODY EXPERIENCES AT TIMES OUT THERE" Berry has made similar comments about injuries and youth and the comments are true. Hell they have 6 WR's in their 2 deep and 3 are WR's plus all 5 of their backup offensive linemen are freshman. But fans don't want to hear the water is rough they want the ship brought in
The run defense has killed ULM and the Cajuns will definitely have a heavy dose of Elijah McGuire as well as the qb Jalen Nixon in the read option game.I know they will be getting 2 of every animal rain in Lafayette today but its Homecoming where UL-Lafayette has won 4 straight.Its Halloween and I think there will be a big crowd. But more importantly UL-Lafayette is in a can't lose situation as they can't afford to fall to 2-5. I like UL-Lafayette to win 37-20
BOL today guys and once again Happy Halloween
