Is it by geographical location or do the conferences all have a default hierarchical order?
One would understand how the teams in the SOUTH-EAST Conference are placed, even tough Louisiana Monroe, Florida Atlantic, Lafayette, etc are also in the same corner.
But then you have Boise State that moved from the WAC to the MWC because it was to good for the WAC. No problem, Idaho is pretty close to the "Mountain-West". But now Boise State will get an invite to the Big East. Idaho is far from being in the "EAST"!
How did Texas A&M go to the SEC? Texas is not exactly "South East".
I remember how high scoring Louisville games were once upon a time when they were in the Conference USA. Now look at their games, left and right shit fests.
Can someone please clear me out of the offensive/defensive values of football Conferences in the NCAA ?

It has nothing to do with Geographical location and has everything to do with MONEY. That is all you need to know.
Please emphasize. Why can't the likes of Tim Tebow, Percy Harvin, Justin Blackmon, Andrew Luck and LaMicheal emerge from the state of California and decide to go to San Jose State or emerge in Texas and decide to go to North Texas?

Because San Jose St and or North Texas does not provide a star athlete enough exposure - Nationally Televised Games, Playing in a "Major" Conference against tough opponents, Prime Slots on SportCenter, a spot in the BCS/AP Top 25, etc etc etc

But why in hell would Boise move to a shit conference like the Big East? Look what happened to Louisville. They went from being the fireworks highlights team to a team that no one cares about. Boise is not even located in the East. They'll have to travel 2 time zones for every road game on the season.
If Houston moved to the Big 12 that would be awesome! Texas in-state rivalries, plus their offensive style - meh-defense should fit hand in hand with the likes of Oklahoma State and Baylor

mrdegenerate boise would go to the big east because of money and the bcs bid. If they were in big east this year and undefeated then it would be hard for them to be kept out of national title game. I agree with you degenerate but they will follow the money. I don't blame boise if they go i blame the big east for offering the invitation

Teams from non-BCS conferences want to move to BCS conferences (see teams like TCU, Utah and Boise St.) so they can play for the National Championship. And the more teams from your conference that go to the major bowl games, BCS bowls (bowl's that generate a lot of ), they get a share of that money! yeah all bowls give out , but the BCS bowls generate a lot more money that each school in the conference get a share of. So the more teams you can put in BCS bowls, the more money the conference teams gets. Why do you think there are sponsors associated with each bowl. Before, they just use to call it the Sugar Bowl, or Orange Bowl, today they call it the AllState Sugar Bowl, or FedEx Orange Bowl.

But does that mean the SEC has more money than the Big-12 ? I would find that hard to believe. Big 12 football is the shit.
degenerate the sec has 2 big tv contracts with cbs and espn. The espn deal is worth 3 billion a year. The big east also has a contract with espn that's why some games from the big east are on their "big East network" The mountain west doesn't make a ton of money from their tv deal as the big east. I agree with you most of this is b.s. but it ain't changing anytime soon. also big 12 makes a ton of money as well but the sec gets the most from their tv deal with cbs and espn
