We fired a coach who went 9-3 this past season - then hired a coach who went 5-7 this past season - a 61 years old coach at that - interesting to say the least.

We at least can feel safe that he won't be using Nebraska as a jumping stone to bigger and better things.

he seemed for the most part do ok at oregon state...teams always played and hit hard...he runs a pro style offense...hmmmm better bring one helluva a recruiter to lincoln.....he loves to recruit cali kids....but all coaches recruit cali kids...has good ties in texas brought in the rodger brothers....hmmmm dont get it...

Nebraska fan here. I&#x27;m hoping once the playoffs are over we can take one from the other Oregon school and let him be the O.C/Head Coach in the making under Reilly. Scott Frost and Reilly are good friends so I&#x27;ve heard. Will be real interesting to see what kind of staff is put together.

Bizarre move. Mike Riley would&#x27;ve been a good grab for another school like 6 to 8 years ago. Corvalis very hard to recruit to, likewise to Lincoln. Similarities end there, a very odd fit on the surface.

Riley is a much better coach than Pelini. getting kids to come play at Oregon St is waaaaay tougher than you would think. Way too much competition on that side of the U.S for recruits. Nebraska gets a lot of close to home talent and the name alone will attract players.....

Huskers are better off for sure. Got a guy with coaching experience, age and isnt a dbag (see Pelini,Muschump,Kiffin).

Possibility he might bring Ed Orgeron ex USC defensive coach and head coach when Kiffin was fired.  Kids loved him and wanted him as their head coach.  If they land Ed, recruitment will soar.  Really happy for the Huskers.  Things might be looking up in Lincoln.
