If you were setting odds for Tennessee vs App State, here is what you would be facing:
1. Every civilized person who follows CFB is picking Tennessee win the SEC East, possibly go to the Playoff and a few even picking them to win the NC.
2. Knowing this, how would you set the line for games with Tenn this year?
3. Reminder - This team has done essentially nothing until last season. Last season, they blew games against Florida, Oklahoma and Alabama and the coach has a problem with addition ( kicking the Xpt when he was up by 5).
4, Impressive bowl win vs an overmatched NW team but everyone remembers it. Many think this game was a preview of things to come this year.
Knowing all the above, I would shade the line 2 to 5 points and make Tenn a bigger favorite than the numbers would justify. In other words, I would make Tenn backers lay more than they would normally have to.
The Rednecks at Crazy Sheet keep telling us Tennessee will "blow their doors off" or "Tenn will boat race App State", etc.
Agree or disagree??
I dont think a bet on App State is wise but I never like to play a team that I know the oddsmakers may be setting to high of a line based on public perception.

I would put lower spread marquee games into the " worry zone" =
Georgia -3 Odds makers could have made this 7 and they still would have had loads of GA action... Everyone remembers The Heels allowed 14,286 rushing yards in the bowl game
Clemson -7/-7.5 They looked so good in the national Championship game , Public compares last years stud BAMA squad vs a SOFT AUBURN SQUAD ( ON PAPER) .... Line could be -10 and Clemson $$$ would still roll in ....COULD BE THE MOST PUBLIC TEASED AND ATS PLAY OF WEEK 1
BEST OF HEALTH, HAPPINESS,WEALTH, BLESSINGS and LUCK TO ALL !!

most of the people (including myself) don't pay much attention to small conferences, SB is one of them. by looking at the total 60.5, it's telling me oddsmakers fav the OV but i just don't see tenn's gonna have time to score over 41ish unless couple picks 6, but i doubt it.
side note, i'd ignore all the media, which completely bought.
the price is right, just my opinion.
