This Iowa team is a very strange bunch this year. So far they have not showed up on the road and last week, at home against against Mich St, they were down 34-7 at half. Then something clicked and they went on a nice scoring run only for their huge momentum advantage to be taken away by Mich St faking injuries.
When this offense gets rolling and they run their hurry up effectively, they are damn near unstoppable. For some reason they have just had a few games where they start off sluggish (Pitt, Penn St, Mich St).
I look for them to correct the ship. I've been listening to a lot of radio around the state and everyone is all over the hawkeyes, saying that they are a very mediocre team and actually give them little chance to win another game the rest of the year.
About the time people stop believing in them, is the time they start to perform. I've seen it too often with this bunch. Today, Purdue will have their hands full.
Purdue will not be able to play this Iowa team the same way as Ohio State last weekend. Iowa can run, Iowa can pass... you simply cannot focus on one aspect of their offense. I'm telling you right now, they are loaded with talent when they are hitting on all cylinders.
I say Iowa stops their huge road losing streak and come out strong today. Purdue just cannot matchup against them. The line movement reminds me a lot of the Texans and the Bucs last weekend. Line opens as -3, and slowly moves towards 0... but don't fall for it. Take the away team today, who's with me?!
