No dog in this fight but that was PI
@AJ86
Andre Ware agrees with you, but just my opinion I didn't even think it was close to PI. because if you look at when the BC defensive player catches the ball, thats about the same time the bc defender closest to the wide reciever wraps his arms around the reciever. In fact, the Louisville player didn't even locate the ball(neither did the BC player closest to him) until the BC player is pretty much catching it. It was really two different plays completely- one BC defender had a beat on the ball and made the interception, and then multiple yards away from that(and not even involved in the play) you have a BC defender and the intended Lville reciever running down the field and being completely unaware of where the ball even is. When the BC defender is about to actually catch the ball, both the BC defender and Lville reciever yards away then realize they aren't even in the same zip code as the ball and the Lville reciever lunges back for it(and the BC defender does impede that), but by that point the ball is already being caught yards away.
In fact the BC player who caught the ball is so far away from the intended reciever and the other BC defender guarding them that it is hard to tell if the contact was 'early' or not, because the actual action(ie the BC defender making the actual pick) is so far away from these clowns running down the field.....
I think in that kind of situation, you don't call PI. Again Im not even sure he was 'early' with the contact because the contact came from a defender who wasn't even near the ball. That contact didn't affect the play at all
