We will see if he can coach as good as he did at Vandy, no reason not to believe.
Tonight was a HUGE night in the resurrection of a program described by many as left for DEAD. WE heard all of the analogies.
Now Franklin has taken over and thankfully to probably the #1 draft pick one day in the NFL at qb, this team is setting itself up very nicely for the future.
Sure there may be struggles with depth the next couple of years still, but the program will be back to national prominence within 5 years at the most.
While the verbal announcements via radio and Bleacher report of PA #1 recruit OT Sterling Jenkins (from Pitt) and QB Brandon Wimbush tonight were just another small step in the rebuild (as if 15-9 last two years is that bad considering sanctions and fact two missed xps cost them two of those losses and a horrible review of a td another), outside of Hackenberg and Breneman committing, probably the best recruiting night in PSU history.
The recruits are buying what Franklin is selling and they are currently ranked #2 behind only Bama for 2015, this after he saved face and kept all recruits and even upgraded the class in 2014 after O'Brien suddenly departed.
I fully expect at least another one year of sanctions (some have already been removed) to be removed after George Mitchell gives yet another positive review of PSU football culture ( gee what a shock) and the NCAA tries to save face again in lieu of the Paterno lawsuits against them where they have tried to settle already with $ and been told, NO! More than likely, this fall all sanctions will be removed as you start to get the idea these recruits know there is a great chance of that.
However you want to break it down, there is something special about to take place at PSU. As one player put it best at the most recent spring game, "they got FAT while we starved, its going to be our time to eat!"
Never underestimate a hungry Lion, especially if its Nittany blue.
