Some might argue that the Rebels will rally for their coach who cannot make the trip due to testing positive for Covid, but from a tactical standpoint his absence has got to hurt. It is well known that he calls lots of the plays and has a big effect on the game. Of course in the first game of the year no one knows what is going to happen. But the line has gone from 9.5 or 10 down to 8.5 and I would guess Kiffin's absence has much to do with that.
This is what I have been debating on since the news. Imo it was an easy cover before this news. I still think it's a cover for the Rebels but this definitely makes it interesting. With thr technology available these days I don't think it will make a huge difference play calling but with the vibe it may which is huge in college ball.
The vibe of a team can make or break a cover.

But, Kiffen's not the play caller...He developed the strategy, and that's done during the week. It will be executed by his assistants and players, like it is every week. Sure, it would be better for Ole Miss to have him on the sidelines. The only adverse impact may be half time adjustments...However, I don't see an impact...Ole Miss rolls...and wins and covers...
