They are by far the best ACC team and Ive been saying this for months. Sadly it took them ST0MPING that "awesome" Miami DA U IS BACK team to make it reality. Miami was nothing like I said last week with my article posted with Pat Forde's stupid ass..

I don't think too many people have been in disagreement of this. They've won the ACC the last 2 years and have been predicted by most to make it 3 in a row this year.
Like every other conference, there is a lot of football to be played. We've only got a few weeks under the belt. Anything can happen.

not so fast. Many of the teams in the ACC suck, but V tech is not necessarily a powerhouse either. They caught a big break with the weather in the Miami game. If it is sunny maybe Miami rus 'em out of the joint.

It wasn't really going out on a limb, picking the favorite to win the conference. VT is a very good football team. Their offense leaves a lot to be desired. (Which would scare me if I was a Miami backer. VT ran roughshot on the very average Cane defense) But their Defense and Special Teams are really solid. VT played very well against Alabama in that first game...they simply were outgunned. They are clearly the class of the conference.
Are you freakin' kidding me!!! Georgia Tech is crap. Their one dimentional offense and woeful secondary ain't winning crap. If that kid has to drop back and pass!!!
It's gonna take Clemson two more years to shake off the damage from the Bowden era. Nice team, but not ready to compete for the conference title.

The ACC is just down again this year and the amount of talent just does not compare with other conferences! Tyrod Taylor is an awful quarterback and he gets exposed against good defenses!

Tyrod Taylor is crap. The VT offense has ranked in the bottom 20 for a few years now. It doesn't matter in the ACC. VT's coaching, 'D' and special teams are enough to win the conference.
VT is routinely happy to go 3 and out on offense and play field position. 3 yards and a cloud of dust.
We're not talking national title here...just talkin' ACC.

The 'Cane fans are a silly bunch. So many people are ready to tout 'The U'. Isn't it funny though how the 'Canes never sell out a home game. Even when they were competing for national titles in the mid 90's and beyond, they weren't selling out the Orange Bowl. Not they play at Land Shark and they still don't sell out. Nice to see the 'Cane fans celebrate their 'tradition'.

Well you know what they say, defense wins championships.....Guess that is why VT is always in the mix in the ACC, their D is always one of the best....

So many dumbasses making dumbass statements about Miami. The Miami fans didn't anoint the Canes as being anything. The MEDIA and ESPN are the people that kept saying "The U is Back" etc. As a diehard Canes fan, and one who is on Miami message boards, the MIAMI FANS WERE NOT BUYING INTO IT JUST YET. So please don't mistake the media with Miami fans. Did you see one Miami fan on t.v. or ESPN spouting that 'the U is back'? No. You saw Sportscenter say it over and over.
Miami absolutely dominated college football all through the 80s up until the outrageous sanctions for 'lack of institutional control' sanctions that took place in 1997. It was 4 Championships in an 8 year span, and played for a National Championship about 10 years straight. I can assure you that the Orange Bowl was selling out during those years. Did it sell out when the Canes played some pansy ass team? Nope. Do you know why? Because fans knew it wouldn't be a game. The 58 game home winning streak, which will NEVER be close to being touched, guaranteed a win at home vs. non-ranked opponents, so the games were pretty boring. Oh, did I mention is actually has to do with the fact that Miami is a private school that has about 1/4th of 1/5th the number of students as 'your' team that sells out games? Because I almost forgot to mention that. Annnnd, there are about 100 other things to do in Miami as opposed to Lincoln, Nebraska or Blacksburgh, VA.
Sorry to get so defensive and feel the need to teach you guys a little something about football, but some of you are just getting old and spouting off stupid stuff. Swizzol insinuating that Miami has no tradition is probably one of the dumbest things I've ever seen on this board. If they weren't an absolute dominant program who just destroyed every team they played at one time, then why do you think so many people hate them to this day? Will The U ever 'be back'? I dunno. How many schools play for a National Title almost 10 years straight and win 4 in a span of 8 years and currently have 5, and have played for 2 this decade? Not really anybody. So will Miami ever reach that level again? I doubt it. They owned college football and they knew it. So maybe they aren't 'back', but they sure as hell are on the way back up.

I didn't say they have no tradition. I am fully aware of the great Miami teams. I lived in Pembroke Pines during the mid-90'. I've been to more 'Cane games than most half-assed Miami fans. Miami has a great tradition. I just said their fans don't support their team. During the 80's Miami fans represented. The Orange Bowl was a madhouse. However, during the 90's something happened...fans stopped coming to games, even though the teams were great. Most Miami fans talk big game...too bad they don't support their team.
