Rain expected. Satterfield new HC at Cinci with only 7 returning starters and 3 on offense. Jones about to regress to the mean of his college career stats prior to last week. Hopefully, highly touted BC transfer QB Phil Jurkovec will have a good game. Lunch Pale Pitt is going to win and cover in a grinder. LHH
@Oklahoma -16.5 over Southern Methodist
Oklahoma 45 Southern Methodist 21
Rhett Lashlee is an offensive innovator for SMU. The Ponies do have an experienced offense line. But, that D still has a lot to be desired. Step up in class for SMU. D Gabriel should be able to exploit SMU secondary. A bit concerned with OU's blowout of hapless Ark St that the line may be inflated. However, man for man, motivation, home field, good weather expected, I like the Sooners to TCB win and cover. LHH
Utah -7.5 @Baylor
Utah 31 Baylor 17
Yes, I know a potential overreaction, losing by 11 as a 28 pt fave to Texas St at home, a team they beat by 35 or so in 2022 on the road. Aranda is a good coach, and he will have his troops prepared, and The McLain will be rocking...However, the loss of Shapen at QB will hurt. The backup Sawyer Robertson, Tr from Miss St is serviceable and was highly recruited, but he seems to lack experience. I doubt Rising will play on Saturday Bryson did an ok job at home against Florida. I trust Whittingham more in this matchup, sans two starting QBs. I think Utah will win and cover with a staunch D, solid running game, motivation if they win this OOC game and TCB in the PAC 12, they could back door into a CFP spot...with some luck. Conventional wisdom would say this would be a bounce back spot Baylor. However, I think the team and their devoted Baylor Line loyal fans will have to wait until week 3 when Baylor hosts Long Island University to pick up its first win of the season. Utah wins and covers the modest line. LHH

Like the Oklahoma and Pitt picks. Pitt is under the radar this year as I think Slovis wrecked that team last year so a big upgrade with Jerkovec as he reunites with his former coordinator. We all have negative weeks so glad to see u stay with it (and week 1 can be tricky). I hope u have a bounce back this week. Good luck

Pitt is on my radar but I just can see them in a sloppy 24-17 type game. My numbers have them winning by 14+ I think Cincy regresses this year and Pitt may be a pleasant surprise. GL

My only concern here is Baylor. They were bitch slapped last week. Always a danger of them "rising" to the occasion. Utah QB rising may not play according to ESPN. Also, this a west coast team playing an early 11:00 game. Utah Coach is a tough SOB and should have his team ready. Line is Utah -7 right now. Tough game.
