Anyone want to weigh in with quality thoughts on the Michigan State/Notre Dame game as the line at Heritage is now Michigan State +8? I
just think that is a lot of points to give to a team with a excellent
history behind them, and a very good Head Coach in Mark d Antonio, not to
mention a very solid defensive line. Yes they have to replace Cook at
QB but they still do have a strong running game to rely on.The only thing that concerns me is that Notre Dame has already been tested in Austin, Texas when they played the Longhorns. Greatly appreciated any helpful feedback you can provide not only to me but to other forum members who possibly are interested in this game.

As a Notre Dame fan I really like MSU +8, but then again I'm a pessimistic fan of my teams. Notre Dame just has not looked very good this year, and are very injured/suspended. I have not seen much of Michigan State this year, but they always play Notre Dame tough

I watch both teams pretty closely and I was leaning heavily towards Notre Dame pre season. MSU lost so much from last year's team and I don't think they have the horses to reload like a Bama/Ohio Stat, so I think they are a little over valued by many from their recent success.
MSU has McDowell on the dline, but not much after him. This is their worst defensive line in 7 years. The offensive line is also in a rebuild and won't be winning in the line of scrimmage like they have in years past. MSU does have a really really good RB in LJ Scott, but without a dominant line, how good will be be against a stout ND front 7? Last year MSU owned the line of scrimmage in every game they played outside of Bama, that isn't going to be the case Saturday.
Does MSU have the quarterback to keep the defense honest? We have no proof of that as of today.
I would say ND wins, and covers quite easily, something like 31-17.

I dont think ND has a stout front 7 at all... Texas run game carved em up for huge chunks. Tyler O'Connor has been waiting for a couple years to start. The Young wide recievers for the Irish will be tested by sparty secondary.... Can these guys beat the tight coverage? There arent many teams in college that can play defense like Sparty... How many games have they NOT covered as an underdog the last 3 years? I think only like 2 tops (oregon,alabama).... Lj scott isnt the only one... Madre London and Gerald Holmes are pretty good too. Dont be too alarmed by their performance against Furman...... Dantonio knew he had this trip to South Bend coming up after early bye week.... Sparty will slow this game down.... Run the ball control the clock.... Ed Davis, riley Bullough, and Malik Mcdowell are capable leaders with an experienced set of safeties behind them.... I like Sparty in this spot with everybody doubting them.... Dantonio feeds on this.... Kizer is a great QB, but my bet is more about the Notre Dame recievers.... I dont think they can beat the tight coverages and clever zones that sparty plays. The playcalling against Furman was purposefully vanilla. Why show your hand and give Brian Kelly any film? They did the absolute minimum in that game..... Good chance Im wrong with Irish playing at home, but Ive seen this story before with Dantonio.... I think Sparty covers

ND lost quite a bit on defense as well.... And sparty performance week one left much to be desired. I think this Line is about right for this game. Sparty plays Ohio St every year.... There isnt much Irish can throw at them that they havent seen already.

It's just so dam difficult and I gotta say I caught ND/Nevada game last night and WOW every player on ND was huge fast and talented... Nev was physical and ready to play even still they got bested big time.. Nevada is no Mich St but just unsure what I'm getting because ND had to work hard but still KILLED nevada with superior talent....
I'd have to see how Mich St looked in their one game and how's dantionio do off a bye and a big game would be my question... My gut says the line is where its at for a reason because I'd expect over a TD off a ND win vs Tex but loss and they lay out dantonio with over a TD... IDK think you said it right, too good.... looks fishy.

Very much apreciated the responses and BUTTA4 you seem to know what you are talking about very convincingly as a matter of fact so your post took away any doubt or questions I had. Best of luck to you this weekend and throughout the season!

I agree... And I bet at least 75% of wagers is on MSU. I'm with VEGAS on this one. GLTA
