Miami: Returning 13 starters in a unit that went 10 - 0, and stumbled late in the season. The Hurricanes are led by one of the top linebacker units in the nation, while safety Jaquan Johnson was an Athlon Sports All-American for 2018. Under coordinator Manny Diaz’s direction, Miami thrived on creating havoc against opposing offenses last fall. This unit recorded 44 sacks and 32 forced turnovers over 13 games in 2017.
Miami's offensive line vs LSU's defensive line: Miami surrendered 29 sacks, and rushers averaged 3.9 yards a carry.Their starting tackle and guard are also gone. However, they return a really good tackle and center.
This MIGHT/COULD be a problem against the LSU defensive front of LSU: Glen Logan, Breiden Fehoko and Rashard Lawrence are listed as starters here, with linebacker Devin White anchoring the next level. The Tigers allowed only 3.9 yards a carry last season and ranked third in the SEC in rush defense. A deep and athletic front is poised to cause plenty of problems for Miami’s offensive line. Can the Hurricanes give quarterback Malik Rosier just enough protection to throw downfield? And can running back Travis Homer find running room?
The QB situation: Rosier ended the season on a bad note, with picks and did not throw over 210 yards in a single game, however he did throw for 3000 yards last season with 26 TD's. How well he performs against the LSU secondary that is very deep and talented, is going to be one of the keys to the game.
LSU is bringing in Ohio State transfer Burrow, who has good mobility, but this is his first career start and they have a new offensive coordinator. Their best running back Guice is also gone.
There are just too many question marks for me with LSU. New QB, no proven RB, new offensive coordinator. Yes, they have one of the best defenses in the nation that will cause problems for Rosier, but he does not need to light up the score board to win, just be consistent.
It will be a close game down to the wire, but I will take experience any day of the week in a big game like this.

Yeah, that is probably a safe bet, but I do not like ever playing an over when there are question marks with the OC, QB, and RB... Especially when you have two defenses as good as these.

I feel like there’s going be a few defensive touchdowns
