#10 Miami travels to Chapel Hill tonight to take on the
struggling UNC Tar Heels.Miami comes
into the game boasting one of the top defenses in the country and THE top pass
defense , allowing opponents only 142
yards through the air on the season. This doesn’t setup well for UNC, a team that rely’s solely on the
pass.UNC rush offense is ranked 115th
in the country, gaining a measly 100 yards per game. The loss of Giovani Bernard has turned out to
be much more than anyone anticipated.UNC faithful figured Sr. Quarterback Bryn Renner would have a big season since he was returning the majority of his pass catchers.Well, that certainly hasn’t been the case.10 point spread on a team that doesn’t allow
opponents to pass that is playing a team that depends on the pass?
So how is UNC going to be able to move the ball? Let’s take a
closer look at this vaunted Miami pass defense. They have accumulated their gaudy numbers
against the following:
#84 ranked Florida Atlantic @ 210/gm
#103 ranked Florida @ 189/gm
#118 ranked South Florida @ 138/gm
#119 ranked Georgia Tech @ 131/gm
Hmmm. So in other
words, Miami has yet to face a team that has discovered the forward pass. UNC won this game last year 18-14 but do not
put any stock into that. Giovani Bernard
accounted for over 200 all purpose yards and those days are over. This will be Miami’s first game of the season
outside of the state of Florida and only their second road game (south florida
was their 1st if you really want to call that a road game) UNC’s back is against the wall and the
critics are getting louder. We will find out tonight if this defense is for real or not. They will be tested early and often A rowdy crowd will be in attendance and I
will be on the home dog. Good Luck
UNC +10

I don't disagree with your analysis but you missed the other half. How about miami's offensive statistics vs. North Carolina's defensive statistics.
At the end of the day, miami's offensive can swallow UNC. This is easily a two touchdown cover for Miami if they don't lose the turnover battle.
I didn't cover Miami's offense vs. UNC's defense for a couple of reasons. Time being the first. Just simple don't have the time to type everything out and secondly, UNC's offense against Miami's defense is the most important thing here regarding this game imo. We know that Miami will be able to score on UNC. That's no mystery. UNC hasnt been able to stop anyone all year and I don't expect it to start tonight. The question is, can UNC score on Miami? I think the answer to that question will give you the ats winner.

Furthermore, the total is set at 63.5 This is the highest total for either team all year (minus the miami vs div-2 school). That tells us something imo. Oddsmakers believe UNC can put points on the board.

I agree with you Miami hasn't been challenged vertically. But its not like were talking a super high octane passing offense in NC. They can keep NC to about 20 pts. If you watched Florida and G Tech game Miami D line dominated those games.
Question is can NC stop Miami from hanging 30+ on them??
They have given up 27+ pts to S Carolina, G Tech, V Tech and 55 to East Carolina. & Miami has a lot better Offense than any of those teams with 12 days to prepare.

This game has no bet written all over it, but, what fun is that.
I do beileve there is No way UNC wins tonight. However, they can cover the 9. (my bookie has 9) 6 point Teaser middled with UNC +15/Seahawks -1 AND Miami Canes -3/Seahawks -1.
I'll take a score of 34-24 and then watch Mr. Palmer throw some pics in AZ to close out my bets.

I like The U bc one thing that wasn't mentioned is the revenge factor from last year. The U is not getting the respect yet and I think they have to dominate to gain a grain of that. 2 touchdowns yes I think The U is highly motivated for this game its just a matter if Duke Johnson holds onto the ball.
