With Brent Stockstill coming back for his senior season and the great defense former syracuse HC Scott Shafer has implemented MTSU has a real shot at winning the CUSA East Division. The face a difficult schedule for a CUSA team which is why i think the line is only at 7.

Vandy is a real toss up game in my eyes, I think MTSU is the better team, they certanely have the better offense, and only gave up 24 pts in what was shafers first game as DC, to a Vandy offense that will be better last season than this year. FAU at home I like the odds of a win their better than a win on the road against Marshall. Depending on how kentucky's season is going, alot will be on how good their QB is that could be a very winnable game for MTSU.

The hiring of Scott Shafer as Dc, former michigan Dc, Syracuse DC and head coach, MTSU finished 47th in Def. S&P+ — its first top-60 ranking since 2009, when now-Miami coordinator Manny Diaz was running the show. They gave up 39.5 ppg in 2016, that was the year before shafer arrived, and he shaved that down to 25,5, 2 touchdowns off on average

ESPN actually has MTSU favored, its a home game for them and FAU is losing a decent amount from last year
