Below are my current Conference Ratings for the Power 5.... Some people will say it'S NOT important , while I believe it is elvery important to determine why some teams ( IOWA & NORTH CAROLINA) are undefeated or have only 1.loss ...
The TOP 3.Conferences are very close to one another.... The Other 2. Are a big step behind ...
#1 PAC 12 97.6 LOADED with EXCELLENT QB'S .. There are good reasons why they will likely not send a squad to the PLAYOFF,.... Other than OREGON STATE any of these Schools will play you to the final whistle ... As evidence of Colorado playing USC tight ... NOBODY Wants to Olay OREGON right Now ... Washington STATE is $$$$ ... Even ARIZONA can pull off upsets , especially at home ( Utah).... The Variation in Home Field Elevation , temperature, d conditions are very significant ... Also a wide difference of styles ...
2 BIG 12 97.1
The BEST COLLECTION OF COACHES IN COLLEGE FOOTBALL .... Please it's not even close .. SNYDER,STOOPS,BRILES,GUNDY,PATTERSEN, etc... Very Strong Systems in place ... Love the FACT THAT EVERYONE PLAYS EACH OTHER ... The Round robin backloaded at at the end of the schedule is BRUTAL ...
3 SEC 97
The WEST is EXTREMELY GOOD .. It took awhile but everyone's preseason hype squad ARKANSAS is in 2nd after 2.Very impressive wins ... Bama is Bama and is getting better weekly ... The EAST is a little soft at the bottom but Florida,Georgia and Tennessee should all do very well in their BOWL games ...
The Drop OFF
BIG10 94.3
OHIO STATE ( Soft out of conference slate with narrow victories) AND everyone else in my Opinion ...
Sure Iowa is undefeated , but who have they beaten and by How much ???? Put the HAWKEYES in one of the above conferences and they have 3+ LOSSES .... Michigan and Michigan State are decent , but very inconsistent and don't out away the lesser foes by enough points ... Sparty got screwed in Nebraska, but it should not have been that close ... Northwestern & WISCONSIN are OK , but this is a weaker Badgers squad ... PENN STATE has a horrible O LINE and lack of Olay makers... Come BOWL TIME I WILL LIKELY BE FADING PRETTY KUCH ACROSS THE BOARD ( Likely NOT OHIO STATE)...
5 ACC 93.7
CLEMSON is Good, but all their quality wins have come at home .. While I am invested, I have serious doubts they match up well vs PLAYOFF caliber squads.. At SOUTH CAROLINA will not be a GIMMIE.... NORTH CAROLINA is 2.end zone picks away from being undefeated ... However the HEELS have played a soft schedule .. They could still make the PLAYOFF , But it won't be easy needing loads of help ... FLORIDA STATE is young and will be much improved next season... The NOLES narrow victories -8 over Wake Forest, -5 over MIAMI tell you they are very average , also don't forget the loss to Georgia Tech .... NC STATE, LOUISVILLE and PITTSBURGH are all about the same , Ok but all very beatable .... The BOTTOM of the conference is weak ...
WHAT DO YOU HAVE ?
BEST OF HEALTH, HAPPINESS,WEALTH, BLESSINGS and LUCK TO ALL !!

I agree 100% with your list and rankings. The BIG and ACC are not good this year, but the top 2 teams in those conferences are {Clemson and Ohio St}.. That's why I believe a 1 loss team from the top 3 conferences you listed will get the nod over a 1 loss from the last 2. Nicely done kind sir.

I believe that the Big 12 and SEC are the top conferences overall depending on which angle you take or how you want to spin it.
The Big Ten and Pac 12 are neck and neck in my book, but I'd give a slight edge to the Big Ten because they have three teams that, deservedly so, are (legitimately) top 10 caliber. The middle of the pack is much more robust in the Pac 12.
The ACC is absolutely dead last in my book, and it becomes more apparent each week. Clemson looks outstanding at times, but unimpressive at others.
Either way, I think it's not unreasonable or unfair to yearn for the day when each of the top-level conferences have a representative in a playoff format similar to what we have now, but tweaked to accommodate this. There are many arrangements to make this possible, but it all comes down to number of weeks required to determine a champion, venue availability, TV/sponsorship endorsement, and of course, NCAA approval, as these technically are student athletes.
Good stuff, Double.

I personally think the ACC coastal is pretty strong because of its depth, while the ACC Atlantic is weak.
Clemson is great sometimes but could lose to a lot of teams. They are a good front runner but if they go up against UNC in Charlotte and fall behind, they could get rolled.
