Happy bowl season guys. Rather than get caught up in breaking down and analyzing each game, which is tedious and tiresome to say the least, I'm employing a simple strategy this year based on the depth of the strongest conference.
Now, I think we can all agree that the SEC is the strongest conference top to bottom. That's not to say there aren't good teams in every conference but what makes the SEC the best is that from top to bottom it is full of tough teams. With the exception of Vanderbilt, there are no bad teams here. Now you compare that with a conference like the Big 10 or the ACC and you just see that the mid level teams in these conferences simply are not very good at all. The Minnesotas and the Virginias of these conferences cannot hold a candle to mid level teams in the SEC like Kentucky and Georgia. To illustrate my point, on championship weekend, the ACC went 0-4 against the SEC and most of these games pitted TOP ACC teams against MID-BOTTOM SEC teams like Clemson-S. Carolina and Georgia-Georgia Tech. Therefore, you can see just at a glance that the mid level SEC teams are fully capable of beating anyone in the ACC and probably many other conferences as well.
This brings me to my strategy this season for the bowls. You simply put an even amount on of money on every SEC team, with the exception of Alabama and Florida as those teams are the only 2 SEC teams matched up against elite level teams. Therefore you bet 6 teams for a uniform amount and those would be the mid-level SEC teams. So that would be 5 units apiece on South Carolina, Kentucky, Tenn, UGA, and Auburn, and Ole Miss for a total of 6 games for total of 30 units. This way, if you go 4 for 6, which is fairly likely, you turn a profit, 5 for 6 cleans up and 6 for 6 knocks it out of the park.
So, the strategy is basically based on something that we all know is true: the depth of the SEC is unparalleled and that the mid level SEC teams are superior to mid level BCS conference foes from any other conferences. What do you guys think?

I disagree with your strategy. I think this year is to hard to do that. I think you have to go off match-ups, or a point sysem capping system. You cant just say this is a better conference vs a lesser one, so thats my play.. But I do wish you luck.

I see one fatal flaw in your arugment. "TOP ACC teams against MID-BOTTOM SEC teams like Clemson-S. Carolina and Georgia-Georgia Tech"
Winning these games was of no importance to either Clemson or Georgia Tech. Other than rivarly games they both were going to be more focused for the ACC Championship game.

Scools12...as to your point I don't think any team would look past a rivalry game no matter what was ahead of them. Also, I could have pointed to Florida drilling FSU that same week. Morevover, if your saying the ACC can hang with the SEC go ahead and point me to the last ACC team to beat an SEC team period. I can't even remeber one this year.
Also, Goldrush, shut the fuck up. You obviously are making no sense and just being an idiot. Of course we are small fish in the sea. There are 7 billion people on the planet dumbass.

bigfish - not saying this at all. just felt the examples you gave were not the best to point to you to back you theory. other things as I pointed out came into play imo in those games.
good luck with your plays
