Outside of the top 10...is there any other team who can slip in and win the National Championship? Remember back in 2010, Auburn came out of nowhere to win it all. Below, the Coaches Poll top 10 with odds to win the title.
What about a darkhorse like No. 12 Florida State +1600 or No. 15 Texas at +2000? Maybe some other teams you like..........who?

I disagre a bit with LSU. They have many holes to fill with starters leaving. Lucky to finish 3rd in the West.
My two picks would be Texas and Michigan.
Texas has 17 starters back, and experience at QB. Its put up or shut up time for ole Mack Brown this season.
Michigan has good defense talent back, defense alowed least 20 + yard plays than any team in the country last season. Favorable schedule, get past ND and Ohio St and they could run the table. I like their coach also, hard nose winner.

Will win their fair share of games, are in the SEC, Always play Bama tough, beat A&M in College Station last year.
I think the key is if they can get by my Dawgs in Athens. If the can, then watch out.
their problem is that their schedule is brutal.... Open with TCU... can't sleep on UAB... Bama and A&M from the west... and two of the big dogs from the East with Georgia and Florida... If they can some how get through that with only 1 loss, they would be most deserving of a NC

Texas has 19 starters back and a lot of motivation. Talent comparable to Bama with the head coach being the difference...
It would take a lot of breaks for my Horns to win the NC, including Bama getting knocked off by someone. I don't see it, but as variable as Texas has been the last 3 years, anything can happen...

I appreciate the input men. Outside the coaches top 10, I would have to go with FSU, Texas, LSU and Oklahoma State in that order. Another team out there that is a long shot is Southern Cal. The Trojans are not getting any early love but this is going to be a good team my friends. The talent and motivation are there...you got to know the coaches have something to prove.

Texas SHOULD be winning but they haven't for years, it boils down to Mack and the coaching staff, but this year they've got quite a bit of experience coming back. Still, I think they lose 2 and don't make it. Next year should be fantastic though.
I'd go Florida State, up and coming, good coaching, respected conference but not to tough to navigage
Also LOUISVILLE. I mean Jesus look at their schedule! they play nobody but are still in a BCS conference, as long as they go undefeated and no one makes it out of the other power4 undefeated (or just one) I think they go. SEC just has to much competition to have an undefeated team (just like the last 2 years) and will depend on everyone else having at least one loss again. Ohio State will fall at least once and the Big 12 is going to be a complete civil war this year. Maybe someone in the Pac12 will emerge but that's it.
No, the two weakest conferences will have the best shot at throwing out a undefeated player and Louisville and Florida State both won BCS bowls last year and will scream about that and lean on it to get in the BCS game.

Jmyane, you have good reason to mention Louisville, but they are rank No. 9 in the coaches poll. I agree they have a great chance of running the table especially with that QB. Now, they add a stud at RB. The Cards should be a player this season.
As far as a title contender, one has to look at the SEC and the streak they've put together. Tough to go against one of those teams.
Conference Teams Winning BCS Championship
SEC - 5 (Ala, Aub, Fla, LSU, Tn)
Big 12 - 2 (Ok, Tx)
ACC - 1 (FSU)
Big East - 1 (Miami)
Big 10 - 1 (Ohio St)
Pac 12 - 1 (USC)

the more I think about it< the more I think LSU at 25-1 might be worth a shot. I know there schedule is brutal and they lost alot of starters on defense but chavis rotated alot of players so its not like the defense is inexperienced. I know beating bama would be a long shot but if they did they would almost certainly play in the SEC Title game ( aka National champ play in game). What do you fellas think the line in the bama game would be ? LSU +13?

88, based on past history, I'd "guess" the line would be anywere from 6 to 9 tops. The past 3 years the games have played 21-17 (-7), 9-6 (-5.5) and 24-21 (-6.5).
LSU is at a stage like Alabama...they don't rebuild, they reload. This LSU team will be good this season...count on it.

I say the line would be more like Bama -11. Noboyd mentioned Boise St either. For once they do not have a huge game week 1. Could run the table. I think they play Wash week 1.
