Army beat AF.  So did Navy.  I think 7 is bit much in this rivalry game to me.

Only one game in the last 10 years of this series has not been Navy double digit victory and that was last year. The favorite has covered 7 times so laying the points in this rivalry need not be a concern. Navy is not a world beater by any means but Army is terrible.

Army has played tight games this year, such as 41-40 to BCS killer Nor Ill. They&#x27;ve gotten steam roled as well, as last time out against Temple. You know they&#x27;re brining their best effort here of course, and both teams obviously know how to defend the option. IMO, you can&#x27;t play it under, but a turnover on downs or red zone turnover could doom the total. Both squads might chew a lot of clock as well. IMO the play is the points with Army and hope that Steelman wants to go out a winner and the frosh QB for Navy doesn&#x27;t make them pay through the air too many times.

In 2009 and 2010 Navy won this game by 14, last year the won by 6 so it seems Army has started to close the gap a little and this is not the same Navy team we've seen over the last few years.

In the last 4 games we've seen totals of 48, 48, 20 and 34 so this year's total of 56 seems really high to me for two programs who are very familiar with each other.

I'm rolling with Army +7 and UNDER 56 and may even get some ML as well...

Total is where it is because Army can&#x27;t defend anything. Not that Navy defense is special against the run either but I look for them to get at least one more stop than Army and to cover the number.

I guess I can understand linesmakers setting this total where they did because of Army's inability to stop anyone on D but in my opinion this is where "sharps" make their money. The average person looks into this matchup and says "wow, how does this game not go over with all these other games this year with huge point totals?" but what they don't realize is that every year these teams have many games with totals in the 60's, 70's and up but when they play each other its a whole different ballgame. Its similar to a divisional game in the NFL in the sense that both teams know each other so well and usually play the game relatively tight in an effort to "not lose the game". This game is huge for both programs and means a whole lot more to these kids than just the scoreboard at the end of the day. And both teams run a similar style of offense which they get to prepare against every day at practice. I just think that were gonna get the traditional lower scoring Army Navy game that we get every year, only this time I think Army keeps it closer than in years past.

Yea crossing 7 gives me some pause usually, but ask the books how well crossing 7 worked out in the MAC championship. Game lands on 7 and they got hit on both sides. I wouldn&#x27;t go near the total in this game, I can see your low scoring scenario quite easily but can also see Army stopping nothing and goes over.

IMHO 7 is a good number.  Value can be found in the total;  unless turnovers yield quick scores/short fields, under is the play.  Navy is a score better than the Black Knights this year.  Still, both teams have a tendency to put the ball on the ground so that may dictae the outcome.  Sounds a bit like a cop-out to use turnovrs as such a big determining factor, but if you look at past results, it&#x27;s hard not to reach that conclusion. GL all.

The reason I look at the boys from Canoe U as a score better is because of Navy&#x27;s new-found ability to put the ball in the air (thanks, plebe) and Army&#x27;s poor performance on pass d.  Both will run, and move the rock with ball-control intent, but the quick strike will prove to be the difference this year in Navy&#x27;s favor.
