preseason ranked team no.7 on the road as an underdog vs a team that's supposed to be in a transition year is the highlight of the night two saturdays away. short line looks like a coinflip game. i think i would take a field goal here.

Based on the style of the Fighting Irish offense (& new OC from LSU), they upgraded at QB (Hartman to Leonard). AM recently lost a RB in Reuben Owens but ND's Jeremiah Love has been the starter and the small sample size has been overwhelmingly positive.
The main match up to watch here is AM DL vs. ND's young OL. ND recently lost their (arguably best OL) starting blindside tackle for the season. If AM wins, it will because they dominated this vulnerability.
Another key match up to watch is how does Riley Leonard perform vs. his old coach from last season at Duke? Will Elko have his defense dialed in to his old QBs weaknesses or does Leonard understand and exploit soft spots in Elko's scheme?
An argument can be made that ND has slight to heavy favorability in many other positional unit match ups but the Ags and the 12th man at Kyle Field will be ready. Like any close game, it'll boil down to coaching - advantage ND.

I agree. I like the Irish too. Riley Leonard played well last year with Duke, before getting hurt, and he has a more talented team around him this year. I am a little concerned with their O-line, particularly at LT.
